The office manager has this practice of taking three staff members out to lunch every friday in the summer - today is my day. It's not relaxed at all; it's like a second interview. I'm soooooo not looking forward to it. I wonder if the manager deludes herself into thinking that the staff members are her friends, or something.
haha, the partners at my old firm would do that once in a while, i felt the same way. they'd always ask what you were doing with your life, and when i'd tell them i was going to a two year college they were aghast!
hahaha i hate situations like that!! you you contemplate..."what am i going to have to say for the WHOLE hour" LOL
I know! And I'm getting a haircut after work, so I'm spending way more time than usual in those forced friendly conversations. I feel like George on seinfeld, trying to come up with different topics and eat an apple while on the phone to seem casual.
How'd it go?
Reall well, actually. I ate far too much, but the food was good. The other young girl from the office came, so I felt more relaxed. And one of the other women is recently divorced and completely man-crazy, so we were all entertained making fun of her recently-placed personal ad. When someone else at the table is that blatently cooky, it takes the pressure of you, ya know?
