Riddle me this, Ezabel....if this move to AZ was supposed to be for good reasons, and we were doing it for the right reasons, and it was supposed to be a GOOD thing, then WHYWHYWHY.......WHY is Tyler having such a rough time adjusting, WHY am I feeling depressed, WHY do Adam and I still have no jobs, and WHYWHYWHY, in addition to the scorpion, spider/scorpion thingy, AND the baby tarantula I have found outside my house, did I find a King Snake in my bedroom tonight as we were getting ready to leave for the meeting? Yeah, that's right, a SNAKE!! IN MY HOUSE!!!! Doesn't that only happen in like, India?

I am angry/sad today.

You'll get used to it. That's a big adjustment. The critters on the other hand....I think anyone would freak out unless you're an Apache or Navajo. I understand your frustration in general though. I'm going through a bit of my own lately.

you can't expect to magically adjust to a foreign area overnight. i had to pray often for Jehovah to remind me or help me focus on the real reasons why we moved and remember why it was so good. there are going to be problems and challenges no matter where you go-doesn't mean it wasn't the best overall choice. homesickness stinks, but it subsides as you draw closer to the friends in the hall and get into the swing of things. time is the best (and sometimes only)healer.

as for the snake-WHOA. aren't king snakes poisonous? how did you get it out?

The general snake rule here is "black on yellow, he's a mellow fellow", and "Black on red, you're dead."

This one was black on yellow. I think there are some around here that are, but from the website I looked on last night, the only ones that are common are the coral snakes and the rattlesnakes. I'll be able to spot both of those a mile away, hahaha.

it'll be okay! And think of it as a biology lesson. I think i just read up on Arizona king snakes and they are not poisonous? I mean sure it's a little messed up to have a snake in your house, I get freaked out when I see an ant. But .. hey you'll have cool stories to tell.

Arizona doesn't mess around!

When I lived in florida, we were always inundated with lizards, frogs and of course, alligators. You adjust.

My boyfriend has a king snake..for a pet. Yep..cool stuff.

Don't worry K! Just pray a lot and make friends in the congregation and..like buy a sword to kill the next snake that dares enters your house.

How did you get rid of it from your bedroom?

specialk specialkOG 2003

I threw a shoe box over it, slid a thin book underneath, carried it outside, and tossed it into our backyard. I have a theory of how it got in now....which means it may have been my fault.
Our "laundry room" is in our garage, and a few times I have left clean clothes in the basket, by the dryer. I'm thinking the snake got in the garage, and thought it might be nice to snuggle up inside some warm clothes, and found it's way into the basket. When we saw it in the bedroom, it was right next to one of the laundry baskets I had recently brought in. So....that was good times.
