You're liking AZ?

specialk specialkOG 2003

No...I'm LOVING AZ. I feel like, despite the stress, it's been a really positive move for us. I feel more motivated spiritually, and emotionally I feel better too.

That's cool. It's good that you're so positive about it. A move like that is always tricky. I remember when we moved from Mass. to San Diego it was a huge change and there were a bunch of new things to get used to. And, like you said, it was really stressful.

How did you move your stuff? Did you rent a truck and move yourself? Or did you go with a moving company?
We're currently being....um, how do I put this nicely?....let's just say we're not being treated fairly by the company that moved us. They underestimated us by over 3,000 pounds, and now say it's our fault because we apparently took more than we originally said we would. (Which is not true, because we had TWO garage sales, and sold our dining room table and chairs, Tyler's bed, AND our 55 inch widescreen TV, in order to keep the weight down....ridiculous.

We had a moving company move all our stuff. The entire move was paid for by my dad's company since they moved the entire company, and most of the senior staff from Burlington, MA to San Diego, CA. So, we didn't really have much to worry about as far as the moving expenses. Selling our old house was fairly worrisome, though. I think we closed escrow the day the company was going to stop paying for temporary housing.

That sucks that they're being like that. How did they mis-estimate the weight by that much in the first place?

Well, the company is called Brendamour, and they deal with Mayflower. The guys that came out to load our stuff actually told us that the company's nickname is "Bend Over More", for obvious reasons. Apparently the purposely underestimate, and don't lock the estimate into a definite price, so that when it comes back as more, the customer gets screwed.
Adam has been emailing the owner back and forth, and the guy is freaking out because Adam has let him know about the disappointment, and that the customer survey he takes will reflect that. Apparently it greatly impacts their business.
