Try and forget the pride issue. I know it's hard trust me. I've been through the same exact situation. Thing is, it doesn't matter what job anyone has. Just having a job period is a good thing, and a feat. Are purpose is not what we do for living .. and the only reason we should have jobs is to support ourselves. At the end of the day, Jobs are just jobs.
When I wanted to move to London, I wanted to make an effort to secure a job, and favourably a "corporate" one before leaving on the plane to London. It didn't happen, but I said I don't care, I'm gonna go anyway, and worry about a job after getting there. Well, I was in London for month, pounding the pavement, being sorta picky about the jobs I would apply for. After a month passed and nothing worked out, I said, I gotta forget about "pride" and just try to get anything, even if it means being a bike courier, or serving tea, or what have you.. you get the idea. Well, I ended up starting to apply to such things, including Starbucks in Notting Hill. I said to myself, who cares if I have to Starbucks even though I have a Web Design degree, I'd be leaving in my own apartment, and so on, and at least I'd have an income. Looking for something corporate and then not getting anything, means zero income.. so what's the point. Working at Starbucks, MickyD's, whatever it is, it's respectable 'cause it's an honest living.
hey, when you're right -- you're right.
why thank you .
Whoa, I wrote that post up like a foreigner just learning English. haha . Don't think I ever made so many spelling and grammer mistakes. I sound like a Tajikistan dude.
I take offense and at the same time forgive you! :-)
You're Tajik?
Uzbek is where my family name comes from (great gran, so not sooo far back)... so it's in the neighborhood.
See, that's why I didn't say Uzbek instead. j/k. You know I wasn't serious right? There's a native Tajik family in my hall and it just came to my mind first and we get away with joking with each other. At the end of the day, we're all from the Middle East.
:-)
