NY Yankee fans are dumb. They expect the impossible.

jp Sep 25, 2006

no, for us anything is possible. for everyone else, 26 world series is impossible. we're used to it.

Lets be realistic. If not for Babe Ruth, the Yankees never would have won as many. Why? Because players wanted to be drafted by the Yankees after his era. Also it is and always has been the #1 ...

Yeah but the Yankees have had more great players than any other team. That's my point. Baseball is also more popular in the northeast than anywhere else in the country. The Yankees were in the p...

well sure, but the red sox didnt have that success. the mets havent. so location isnt really it. what exactly is the point? having the most great players isn't a bad thing, is it? how does that detract from the team greatness?

It's the name. Because of one player, the organization has thrived over the years. They've always been able to get good players because of him. And New York is the biggest market in baseball. If Babe Ruth played for the Red Sox his whole career, it would have been Boston that thrived. Or if it were the Mets, had they existed then, the same would be true. Ruth is the best player of all time. Of course he is going to impact the team he played for generation after generation.

yanks had a heck of a team despite babe. there was a reason they called it murderers row. they had gehrig, lazzeri, etc. ruth was not far and away the HR leader every year, only because gehrig was right on his tail. so the yanks would have probably won themselves some world series if they had just gehrig.

Yeah, no question they could win without him, but the Yankee mystique begins with him. He is a larger than life player. No one else has come close to that. And that does effect what kind of players a team will get down the road.

definately. i guess you could just say we made a wise decision on that one, at least wiser than the red sox owner.
