Any good non-chain restaurants in the general Randolph/Dover/Rockaway area?
Or, anyone know of any good/cool restaurants in NYC? Like, maybe American, or Vegetarian, or French or Italian? (not into seafood too much)
vegetarian? EWWWW
we went to this awesome italian restaurant in little italy called positanos...SOOOO yum
Little Italy is great... but been there, done that :P
looking for something new (to me)
and for someone from cali, i'm surprised you're grossed out by vegetarian, crazy hippy
psst, im mexican....member? LOL actually you'll only find the veggie peeps in like south OC, santa monica/LA and san francisco. socal peeps are more into diets nad healthy eating....im all about healthy eating & organics but restricting my food intake to higher carbs....not good.

I've never been here, but it's run by Lidia Bastianich, who's cookbooks are amazing. It's very rustic, hearty italian food. Lots of pasta, so that's a plus for Mikayla.
Vegetarian, *rubs palms together mutters under breath* He's transition to the darkside is complete MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry I actually don't remember there's this Ethiopian resturaunt near Little Italy but, I don't remember the name REALLY AWESOME foor I can look it up though.
lol
i'll go to a vegetarian place because i like some food that happens to have no meat in it! like, you know, a good lasagna, or pizza, or french fries...
mmmmm
gimme some unhealthy vegetarian food and i'll be happy!
I'm so challenged. I just realized you said in your area... If you're willing to venture down 46 to Parsippany Veggie Heaven has a Veggie "Whopper" w/ fries (sweetpotato crinkly) It's the BEST junk food you've ever had =)
some really nice ones in chester, mike what's the one you had your rehearsal dinner at?
There's a nice one i've been to in I think randolph too, i'll try to find out the name of it.
we just found two really great restaurants. one was in mt. olive off rt 206. it's called mount olive bar and grill. looks kinda iffy but the food was so delicious and pretty reasonable. and plus i hear their drinks are very generous.
and this one is in newton which is out of the area but it was fantastic. bula international cuisine. i went for lunch but i got this huge piece of pecan crusted salmon with sweet mash and broccoli rabe for $8!!! i'm sure dinner is more expensive but they dod have live jazz musicians all the time really good ones too.
for rockaway i know a good thai place off 46 but i cant remember the name. diagonal from the rita's there.
oh yeah and dover has the quiet man and the laughing lion is always delicious.
thanks!
