obviously a major difference is how there will always be the dark side and there is really no way to get rid of it in the SW universe...

The destruction of the Sith balanced the force. We are left to believe the dark side would never be in control again. Feelings of hate and anger would continue sure, but they would never overtake...

the series continues. Dark and evil keep going. It wasn't just the movies they have a whole series of books and such and no one knows what happens in the future. evil is never really gotten rid of
