I think this is a stupid question: When you transfer the title of a car, you only need to sign the back and have the new buyer sign it, right? You don't need to notarize it, do you? Transferring my car from my dad's name to mine and from NJ to PA has been a nightmare
Car titles are stupid, it took us a month and a lot of leg work just to get a title so we could junk a car.
Well moving into a new state with a loan in my dad's name is horrible. They wanted me to pay sales tax on the loan (even though I already paid it on the car) totaling like $700. So it made more sense for me to just pay off the loan entirely and now I only have to pay sales tax on the sale price from my dad to me, which will be $1. It's just as complicated as paying taxes.
