Claritan/Sudafed. Did you recently switch to a new shampoo or laundry detergent? That might do be the problem.

englandkid englandkidOG 2003

well yes and no, but i think the problem is the fact that ive been using a heater a lot more than i probably should and its making the air dry. do i need a prescription for claritan or sudafed?

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001

I think you need to ask the pharmacist for claritan or sudafed, but you don't need a prescription. Maybe a humidifier would help too. :)

yeah, i have one of those, im going to sit on the couch with my latest book and my humidifier and a cup of tea!

i'm havin real bad allergies this winter too, the hot dry air of the heater, dust, etc. i can't breathe!

I am trying Zicam (maybe Zycam..?) it's a homeopathic nasal spray it's supposed to relieve the .. inability to breathe... but it takes a week to really kick in so far i'm on day 2 and i still kinda can't breathe

but i'm willing to stick it out and give this a try, i like homeopathic things

I tried that "synu-cleanse" stuff that is essentially a lamp-shaped object in which you mix a saline solution with warm water and then run it through one nostril and out the other. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but it didn't help me at all - in fact, I had that solution in my nose all night and couldn't get it out! I wonder if acupuncture would help...

I worked with a Eastern European lady once who said that their home remedy was to put honey on a Qtip and put it in your nose. Its supposed to make your nose run like a faucet. I never had the guts....

ewww that sounds nasty. wont it get all sticky? sean told me about an irish rememdy thats something similar to that, but it involves whiskey. LOL

those never worked for me. i jsut pop an allergy pill, like a claritin-D or allegra D and that takes all the sinus congestion away. *i hope you feel better chica!!
