soooooooooooo i think my dog is claustrophobic

he keeps destroying the contents of his crate, and when I mean destroying, i mean ripping things to shreds, and he even chewed up the black thick plastic "tray" that goes on the bottom of the crate, and ripped it in half. He's crazy. And he pants and drools like a beast the moment we close the door of the crate. Also he refuses to go into the bathroom or any other place that is small. And he doesnt' tear up anything else in the house and he behaves just fine even when we're not in the same room.

soooooooooo today we decided to just leave him out to roam the house freely

hopefully we still HAVE a house when we get back, hehe... heh..

and hopefully my cat will still be alive.

a baby gate might be good to use, in the kitchen or bathroom...so he can't get to stuff, but doesnt feel trapped.

yeah i'm gonna see how he does today... hopefully there's no damage... but yeah keeping him in the kitchen would work

Remember the Will Ferrel Skit on SNL where he teaches the dogs to behave through verbal abuse...

Its amazing how animals display so many attributes that humans do..

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

that's strange because dogs usually feel secure spending time in their crate. how'd he do roaming the house?

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

he did totally fine!! nothing destroyed, nothing even moved from its place!! YAY!!

he must have been abused

he's about 8-10 months old we don't really know his history

he must have been treated real bad in a small cramped crate or something :(
