this is one thing i love...decorating! if you're going for a bold color like reds, alwayst just paint one wall so if you're not overwhelmed with the color. also remember, red conveys "anger/frustration" so if that room is one of your favorite places to be, you'd want to make it cozy :)

yea, that's true. I changed my mind. I'm going to do it a deep olive green on the three walls. Then still pale yellow on the fourth. It would fit my kitchen better. I have a lot of olive/grape type decor. So green is better I think.

also never paint the ceilings of rooms. it makes the space look smaller and enclosed. always leave them white to make the room open up.

I disagree there. If there's nice crown moulding at the top, a dark color on a ceiling can actually make the room seem taller. If the eye is drawn up, and there's other vertical lines in the room, it can seem cleaner and more sophisticated.
