What's the explanation for a computer monitor that keeps blinking on and off... sometimes when blinking off, staying off for a prolonged amount of time? Who knows what someone did to this computer...

loose video cable or power cable? Weird screen saver settings set to like 1 min standby mode or something?

if it's not one of these, you have bigger problems.. might need a new video card or monitor.

I've tried a different monitor and same thing happens. So, new video card might be the answer? hmmm. I'm actually trying to type stuff in between blinks. ugggh so annoying.

Was it a different video and power cable too?

I've tried different video and power cables as well, yeh. Also have tried different outlts.

The screen doesn't just go black. It's goes black, plus doesn't even acknowledge that it's plugged in. Because when the screen is in use the led light goes green... when not in use, but plugged into power, the light is orange. When the monitor goes black tho, the led light doesn't light up orange... the led light goes out as well, with the monitor.

sounds like power issue. You plugged directly into the outlet? or into a power strip? Bypass the strip if ur plugged into that. If you use a power cable that you can replace, try unplugging the desktop power cable and replace the monitors old one with that. See if its the cable or not.

I've tried both directly into an outlet and into a power strip. I've also tried different cables and tried different monitors. Has to be something about the computer, no?

When I switch the power plug to differents outlets, the monitor will immediately turn on again... then eventually goes black and powerless, then eventually I'll switch to a different outlet, and it will work again for a little while, then go out again. And the process repeats and repeats. Explain that mystery. Weird, no? This things driving me nuts. And I don't feel like going on the phone with Dell for 5 hours for them to just keep telling me... Hold on sir, while I direct you're call to someone else.
