my co-worker is from new zealand and has only been in the US for a year. anyway we were talking and she said:

co-worker: OMG g, i saw a *whispers* a black person in my neighbor hood.
me: HAHAHA have you never seen an african american before?
C: um not so close and not in the neighborhood
me: FOR REALS? hahahaha awwww lady, California is multi-cultural...thats the best thing about here
C: should i be scared?
me: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA lady you REALLLY need to get off the island.

and we both started laughing. its so weird the naivety of some from a different country.
