JACK FM IS GONE AND OLDIES IS BACK!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!101.1 CBSFM NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORK oh i love that station!
oh this reminds me. Have you heard 106.3 lately? it's almost "back" to how it used to be like 10 years ago
right now on Sundays they have "Punk Yard" from 10p.m to midnight and they play old punk stuff and new unknown stuff and it's just awesome, i've been catching it the past few weeks cuz i was driving at that time
they're playing more obscure stuff on there again it feels like my youth! driving down to the beach and listening to 106.3!
Good, I know what station to avoid. LOL!
when you put "lol" it doesnt make your comment "ok"
ellen degeneeres has a whole skit on this. how saying just kidding and lol are just wussing out of the statement you made and it isn't okay. very funny.
your family sucks. LOL! but seriously, you are a sad excuse for a human! jk jk.
this is a joke by the way not directed at anyone.
funny
I'm sexy, so I can write whatever I want.
it's interesting how the question box or other reference material mentioned how being behind a computer emboldens people to say things they wouldn't say in person. That doesn't mean they don't think it in person, the just wouldn't normally say it. Maybe we can all keep this in mind when we write on here (if ezabel continues to exist).
1) Don't write stuff you wouldn't say in person.
2) Even if you would say it in person, maybe go by the old adage: if it's not nice, don't say it.
We are free to express our opinion, but we should try not to attack others opinions. (We've all been guilty of that, I'm sure).
You are so getting a nuclear strike on you the next time we play Risk. LOL!
i wanna play again soon
This is a forum. None of us should look at it as REAL socializing anyway. Watch Ezabel end up in an article about websites to avoid. Haha...
are you serious? im sorry but it IS real socializing. what todd said was exactly right. why would it be bad associations for our kids to talk to worldly people but when we talk to people on any form of forum it doesnt apply to us? anytime we do anything we should think about how it reflects our personality.
So I guess no more talk of poop dangling between cheeks. Haha... Real socializing is getting together with people, not typing on a keyboard.
Wow, did you listen to the talk about the question box in the KM at all this week?
you mean the talk on the internet in reference to the question box in the KM? lol
Yes, I listened to it. I don't consider this REAL socializing. Sorry. And I'd say that is what the question box was getting at. I think we'd all get counseled for even being on a site like this.
if that is how your conscience feels why are you still typing?
i've trained my conscience not to bother me
The princess rocks.
Doh!!! You got me...
why?
didn't you hear the talk?
are you looking on eZabel for dating purposes?
No, but I think it was a little broader than just dating. Making friends on the internet is no different than looking for a date.
read it again, buddy. you obviously didn't get the point.
actually the main points were that parents need to keep their kids in check, even ourselves, into not getting into unfamiliar sites such as porn and chat rooms and chat websites as we dont know who can be on the other side of those chats etc.
so altho the internet IS beneficial it can also be dangerous. as with anything in this world we need to proceed w/the necessary cautions.
This site is not a social network, it's not myspace/facebook/friendster/etc, it's not for finding new friends, it's not a dating site, etc. It's for a small group of friends to communicate and discuss things. I know pretty much everyone here in real life, except for Gina, but I know that a lot of you guys know her personally anyway.
I think the point that really touches on eZabel pretty directly was the one that Todd mentioned yesterday: about people being emboldened to say things they normally wouldn't because of the "virtual" nature of the medium. This has become more and more of a problem over the past six months, and it has bothered me for some time.
I don't know how to solve that problem, and still keep the site alive.
Because, really, I LOVE this website. I've had it going for how long now? Almost 7 years? That's a long time. And, you know, I have made friends from this site. And I've met them in person, and they're cool, and good association. This is most likely due to the fact that eZabel grew organically, from my friends to their friends. We've had our share of unwelcome visitors, of course, but they're easy enough to avoid.
I could do different things. I could make the site private. Make it so you have to be logged in to see things. But, would that really be the right choice? How would that address the "emboldening" aspect of the medium?
I could move this site to a different location, call it something new, open it up to the public completely, and just let it grow on its own. That's no fun though.
I could leave it as is. But I wouldn't want to bother anyone's conscience.
I could just kill it completely. Gone. But, that's a tough decision for me. And I need to think about it, seriously.
I'm going away for a week tomorrow, so I'll have some time to think. The site will remain as is during that time.
no more ezabel!?? how could i go on??
BACK TO THE EMAIL LISTS! haha
noooo please NOOOO
are some complaining and conscience bothering them? or are you being pressured?
Oh, there's been pressure for some time. But, any decision I make will really be based on my own conscience, and attempting to avoid stumbling others.
I'll be the martyr... Ban me. :o(
oh ok. im sorry if i seem ignorant to some things on here....we dont get counseled for everything we do in my area. you know what i mean? thats why i questioned. so something that might be looked down upon there are ok here.
like you wanting to shut down this site because of pressure is WEIRD to me (and i know ultimately its your conscience that makes you do as you see fit) but the brother in his talk mentioned that there are some friends who see ea others blogs, have their own sites etc and can be fun.
my vote (if you're taking anyone else's opinion on board, which, if you're not, is ok - b/c my name is not on this site, yours is) would be to block it so only people who are logged in can see any comments. At that point, it would be more like an intranet site than an internet site, you know?
One of the things mentioned in the question box is that so many things posted on the internet become public. My suggestion avoids that.
FYI - if there's any way I can help for any of this project, let me know.
the two main points I got out of the box, were, 1)people can conceal themselves online and 2)people's conduct can slide online. Making the site private addresses neither of these. imho making the site private could promote these two problems, not fix them.
I agree.
Solution... Only allow puppy pics. Puppies make everyone happy. Haha...
Best idea yet! I'll just make ezabel.com redirect to www.cuteoverload.com
Where's my meatloaf? Get to it...
You could get a number of points out of that talk.
that's dumb, why?
and everyone who is doing the old "did you hear the talk??" and trying to counsel over the internet is dumb too
i know you are but what am i?
According to a certain someone I am a heathen. That's ok. I turn the other cheek.
hahah i was just gonna say the same thing. I feel like im sitting in the car with my mom after a meeting...
haha seriously!! shut up!!! haha
but they play real punk. not fall out boy.
Fall Out Boy is punk? I only like one song from them anyway. Punk just irks me. Hopefully Jehovah levels it with the cities. LOL!!!!!
oyyyyyy
hahaha
I KNOW! i was just telling adam about punk yard. its great. remember how great the djs were back then though. theyre so "main stream" now its so annoying to listen in the morning.
yessssssss totally. but the afternoon guy Matt Knight is cool. And this punk yard thing is amazing. And before punk yard they have something like sirens of noise or.. something.. with all chick bands? Wow. Where have all the chick bands gone. Now all we have is Avril blech
Pat Benatar was the bomb...
um yeah matt knight totally doesn't look like what his voice sounds like.. sigh.. :(
aaahh. chick bands annoy me usually. there is one chick band that is on all of the fat wreck chords compilations that just bother the crap out of me, but i can't remember their name.
there was fabulous disaster, all girls. and tilt, but that may have just been the singer.
generally i don't like chick rock bands that much
yeah, it was tilt. sooo annoying. her voice is like nails on a chalkboard.
yeah they sucked, only thing that was decent she did was the live appearance in "on the outside" by NUFAN. although i think many other girl singers could have done as good or better
oh yeah, that was pretty good. it is kind of weird that we are having this convo over the internet, when you are sitting like 15 feet from me.
no way dude.. tilt had a few good songs... on i think those punkorama comps... i mean she was AWESOME on NUFAN's : On the Outside, but she still was pretty good singing for Tilt too... granted my heart still is with Go Betty Go
dude. are you retarded? are you retarded? lol.
ya know i spell retarded "retarted" cause i want to... and people call me out on, it but i dont care...
correct spelling is just a fade anyways.
a fade? hmmm.
yeah whates wrong with thate?
yeah.... a FADE!! like a buzz cut alex!!! RETART!!!
haha
Oh yeh, definately. I've been listening to a lot of 106.3 lately myself since one day I noticed... hey, they're trying to redeem themselves for all the wrong they've done in the 2000s, so I'll give them the benefit of doubt and tune in more often. And, if you catch it at the right time, it's almost like the good ole days!
i only get it in some areas, but it's awesome! if i don't get it in, i listen to radio1045 or 88.5 from philly.
On Sunday Morning's they do all acoustic usually live sets. That is the best part of this station. & every Sunday it's mine and Brandon's ritual on our way to the meeting to Stop pick up a bagel and coffee and listen to it to the VERY last second until we have to go in to the meeting.
Oh rright. Common Threads? I haven't tuned into that show in ages. I remember it being my favourite show on this station tho as well.
i liked the acoustic sunrise on jack fm on sunday mornings ... so nice
