so i'm in salt lake city for some training with HP. On the plane I sat next to a Mormon (yes, a real live mormon) and i said "Hey why don't you guys drink?" and he said "I don't know". And I said "but Jesus drank! and so did Paul! He told Timothy 'a little wine for the stomach'."
and he said - "maybe it's for health reasons.
well at least he had a really good answer for you
yeah it kept my interest. i guess their own theocratic ministry school is not working for them.
lol... i remember jesse t and my sis talked to a few of them a while back and a lot of the stuff they say just didn't make sense. They said they would put things in god's hands, but then they said they would fight in wars to support their country and kill other mormons if necessary.
I went to hospitality last summer at the Bossert and there were various experiences of how different ones learned the truth. One sister actually had been sponsored by Mormons to come to the states from South America and became a Mormon. When she was in high school witnesses called on her, she liked what she heard, investigated for herself, started studying and progressed from there. It was kind of interesting hearing things from that perspective; before then, I'd never met a brother or sister who had previously been a Mormon.
someone on here, his mom i think used to be a mormon or studied with them or something
I work with a former Mormon. She studied with them and converted and left VERY quickly. She said certain deep dark truths only surfaced after she was baptized.
Oh wow that sounds scary.
one really strange belief they hold is that you can be baptized on behalf of someone that has died.
