the new world.
that movie was boring as sin
Oh yeah, that was probably one of the only movies I've ever rented that I turned off after 20 minutes.
oh! this surprises me. i just bought it. haven't watched it yet though. saving it for a rainy day.
i love the director Terrance Malick. he did The Thin Red Line. The best war movie ever made, only slightly edged out by Saving Private Ryan. SICK CAST: jim cavizel, sean penn, john cusack, nick nolte, john travolta, woody harrelson, george clooney, john c. reilly, adrian brody, nick stahl, thomas jane, even donal logue among others!
anyway, this guy, Malick, has a really slow, deliberate style. loves nature and quiet scenes with no dialogue. a real film nut considers Malick's movies a rare treat. he only makes a film once every ten years or so. they're all quite beautiful and have a very spiritual vibe.
i dont know if there were any words uttered in the new world. it was like a wordless documentary about the woods
yes... thats EXACTLY what it is.. there is no dialog.... its just a waste of 3 hrs...
you know what's funny? i'm really looking forward to seeing it. when knuckleheads tell me they don't like a movie-- i'd be MORE inclined to see it than not. lol
but whenever someone loves or hates a movie i become very curious why and i check it out to try to see what they see.
actually, i think i might like this movie now if i saw it again. i really wasn't watching it under the right circumstances - on vacation with a bunch of people. i probably could appreciate it watching alone/in a small group.
but anywho, jersey girl was a really crappy movie.
it's been almost two years. give it a shot. you probably are smarter now and have a more opened mind. i really liked the new world. and i'll agree that jersey girl was pretty bad.
