do you still like seeing TBS live? i don't like the "new" lead singer. i hate his gyrations and lunging. ugh, i hate him. and how he twirls the microphone. so irritating.
there's a girl at my job and she has a Brand New sweatshirt that says "Mikes are for singing, not for swinging" and has an outline of the guy from TBS
i have tried to steal this sweatshirt on multiple occasions
HAHA! so funny! i love brand new AND TBS. both Long Islanders!
what is their beef anyway? why do they hate eachother?
lauren says it's because someone slept with someone's girlfriend or sister something.
the guy from brand new slept with the guy from TBS's wife... and the last 2 cd's were about that drama.
NO STINKIN WAY! jerk.
they used to be really good friends, but after that... yeah.
I dont see what the big deal is? I mean whats a wife between really close friends? GOSH, I wish they would just grow up...
So I found this information on Wikipedia:
"Adam Burbank Lazzara is the lead singer of the American rock band, Taking Back Sunday. On the album Tell All Your Friends he sung co-lead vocals with guitarist John Nolan. After a fairly bitter fight between the two of them (Adam had previously had romantic relations with Nolan's sister, Michelle Nolan, and rumors suggest that this may have been the real cause), John and bassist Shaun Cooper left to form Straylight Run.
Jesse Thomas Lacey is the lead singer of the band Brand New, previous to this, he had a short spell in Taking Back Sunday where he played bass and backing vocals on old records. Jesse Lacey has close ties with fellow Long Island musician John Nolan, a former member of Taking Back Sunday and a current member of Straylight Run.
Fellow Long Island band Brand New, released T-shirts reading "Mics are for Singing, Not for Swinging", and "You Know Who You Are" printed on the back. The shirts were designed in the aftermath of John Nolan and Shaun Cooper's departures from the band in 2003. In an email that had been sent out, detailing their fans on the introduction of Fred Mascherino and Matt Rubano's entrance into the line-up, the Taking Back Sunday members stated: "p.s. T-shirts are for wearing, not talking about on the internet..."[2] Later that year, Taking Back Sunday released a retort shirt that read: "Proudly Swinging Since 1999."
haha that's actually pretty interesting, and helpful. Turns out Lauren was right.
