haha... yeah that's pretty bad. and mighty ducks... ehhhh i dunno
new york knickerbockers.... i know it's named after beer, but that is a dumb name too
well the "mighty" was dropped so they're just anaheim ducks now. at least THEY kept the "anaheim" before the team name.
yeah didn't they used to be the "mighty ducks of anaheim"?
what's with that city and wanting it's name to be after the team's?
and tampa bay buccaneers is dumb because they play in TAMPA, not in the actual BAY
they were anaheim mighty ducks. then the samuelli's bought the team and they dropped the "mighty" and left it "anaheim ducks"
adn you should be named w/the citys name by it. its territorial....CA is HUGE so they cant just be called "california sharks" "california kings" "california raiders" ya know what i mean? and you're not going to call an anaheim team name "LA ANGELS" ya know?
The Giants and Jets play in NJ, not NY. Same thing with them.
The Jets are horrible
alex said the same thing...its not named after beer, silly! knickerbockers are the shorts that people wore to play bball back in the 1940s and such. ive never even heard of knickerbocker beer.
hmm... i'd always heard they were named after knickerbocker beer. This is what wikipedia says"
The Knicks, the shortened form of Knickerbockers, named for Father Knickerbocker, a popular symbol of New York, are one of only two teams of the original National Basketball Association still located in its original city (the other being the Boston Celtics). The Basketball Association of America and the National Basketball League merged in 1949 to form the NBA.
Lay off the crack pipe Matt. haha...
lol.... beer?
