Well, ones that commit suicide normally do it because they're depressed (& I tend to think Ledger's was accidental death but while we're on the subject about suicide... suicidal people aren't anarchists usually.. it's called depression & not being able to cope with his or her mental state so how are they not 'good'... none of us are good. only God is good.)
Well if he was depressed so be it, but sounds like he had everything going for him with no signs of a mental breakdown. So I tend to think he made stupid decisions and used drugs recreationally. His breakup with Michelle Williams was allegedly over his drug use.
i think being an actor alone causes mental breakdowns. you lose sense of "self" ya know. i have a friend who no longer is an actor (hes a director now) because of that reason. he told me that you become so engrossed in your character that you forget who you really are as a normal human being and you doubt and question yourself in everything.
ugh come on... depression is a disease and a lot of times it's a private disease, and plenty of times NO ONE around the person even knows or realizes that they were depressed or suicidal
plenty of times people who commit suicide have "a lot going for them" to the outside
i knew a 19 year old kid who jumped off a building and no one knew he was even depressed
so yeah don't talk about suicide like that

yeah my friends really good friend, her hubby committed suicide cause of depression. my friend said they were all shocked because you would've never known he was depressed or anything was wrong. just cause they're smiling on the outside doesnt mean they're smiling on the inside.
I have a family member who is clinically depressed. You KNOW when living with someone that they are depressed. It shows up in all aspects of their life. Now, an outsider would not necessarily know, because the person could put up a fake front to hide it. I'm sure his wife was aware.

I'd say I'm pretty knowledgable on the subject. I watched someone close to me break down and people outside the family would never know because that person was always very kind and pleasant.
yeah so if this actor killed himself (which looks like was not the case anyway) perhaps his family knew but why would the outside world know

Well if his family comes out and says he battled with certain issues, then I feel for the guy. But from what I've read so far, that has not come out. There are people who just like to feel a high. Kind of like these extreme sports nuts. They go jump off a cliff with a snow board and crack their head open and I'm supposed to feel bad? My first reaction is, "You are dumb and wasted your life for a pointless means of pleasure."
