Watching Endy Chavez pull a homerun back in from the stands for an out in Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS was pretty amazing to me. Too bad Aaron Heilman sucks and lost the game and the Mets season after that...
In no particular order... Sorry they're all baseball, cuz I don't really watch other sports.
Luis Gonzalez of the Diamondbacks hitting a bloop single off the immortal Mariano Rivera in the 2001 World Series to defeat the Yankees.
Curt Schilling pitching a stellar Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS with a sutured ankle and bloody sock, to tie the Yankees in the series in the worst collapse in the history of all sports. Yes, that even beats the Mets collapse last year since no team in all of sports has lost a series when up 3-0.
Robin Ventura of the Mets hitting a Grand Slam homerun to force a Game 6 against the Braves in the 1999 NLCS.
Mike Hampton pitches a complete game shutout against the Cardinals in game 5 of the 2000 NLCS to take the Mets to the World Series.
Dave Roberts steals second base for the Red Sox in game 5 of the 2004 ALCS in the bottom of the 9th inning to setup the winning run for the Sox. Bill Mueller comes up against Mariano Rivera and hits a single up the middle to win the game for the Sox, starting the comeback that will echo forever in all of sports to beat a team once up 3-0, 4 games to 3.
Lotsa yankee hatin' going on there...how was that world series that mike hampton took you too, anyway?
I think in this decade, there's Yankee hating going around the whole league. I actually thought it was cool that they won in 1996.
Yeah pretty sad when Bobby Jones had the only win by a starter. Haha... Valentine lost that series by keeping Leiter in too long in Game 5.
that was an amazing catch by chavez
