Probably the only solution...Move out of America

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

Summer told me that the book compared Americans with the French (I think it was) how much they spend on food plus how long they take to eat. Yes, their food is more expensive, but then they take time to enjoy it more. The culture of fast-food America won't change.

i also heard that because americans take on average half the amount of time the french do to eat, they have a much higher risk of heart disease.

yes despite the fact that they eat food just dripping with butter.

I used to drink coffee black but ever since being in England, I started drinking "white coffee" (coffee with milk) as they say. Actually I've pretty much totally phased out coffee...but yesterday I had breakfast at a diner and coffee just seemed to suit. Well in telling the waitress, I asked, Can I have that with skim milk. She said, No, we only have whole milk.

Wha!?
Ok, right...well

See, just goes to show you things are messed up with American eating.

So, an obvious one, but ever more true after experiencing that yesterday...don't eat out. I've actually recently intended to strictly watch my 'eating out' frequency. Yesterday was like a 'one-off' but just goes to bring me back to reality..something like that.
