Last night, Lauren and I went to see an indie movie called "Man on a Wire". I read about it online last week and was hoping it would be close by, although the nearest theater that had it was in Belleville, according to the website. It won some awards, including the Sundance Film award this year.
Lauren and I were talking yesterday afternoon, planning a date for the evening (this is what we have to do to block off time to spend together) and Lauren suggested that we go to the movies, and asked what happened to that movie I was talking about? I checked it out and it was playing right near our house at the $4.75/ticket theater!
The movie is a documentary about a man who works out a super stealthy plan to cross the Twin Towers on a tightrope. (Note - this movie has NOTHING to do with 9/11. They never even mention it, and rightly so). He plans, he schemes, he practices, he evades guards, and it's a wonderful story. I highly recommend you check it out (definitely if you can find a cheap theater!) and if not, wait for the DVD.
how much are tix near you guys? ours went up to freaking $11.50....almost TWELVE DOLLARS for a stupid movie!
at the local ginormous-plex, movies are $11. If you buy a ticket online, it's another $1.00/ticket. When Lauren and I went to see Indiana Jones, it was $24 before we even got there. And we got popcorn, soda, and the movie was terrible.
I think when we went to see Batman, we both got food. I swear that theater got $40 from us. So usually when Lauren wants to go to the movies, I just hit up Blockbuster or watch something we already own.
I KNOW! im down with waiting for blockbuster too now! so insane!
wooo hooo! Ironman comes out tomorrow!
