Last night in service there were about five of us, two were full time pioneers/students that really needed time. We were out a little later than usual and hit a few extra places. On two occasions that I spoke with people I didn't place anything because neither spoke or read English well. On the positive side in both instances the prospect of information in their own languages was welcomed.
The last gentleman was familiar with the Watchtower and Awake magazines and said he believes that the information published within is unlike any from secular sources and much more beneficial...of course he's so right!
The same man said that he always read the literature in his country but that since he's been here friends greet him on the street, place things, promise to follow up, and NEVER do =(
So I had a party with yellow slips. Hopefully THIS TIME the interest will be followed up on appropriately =D
There is only one other person in my congregation who uses the S-40 and it's our PO's wife. She and I have both had them sent back to us from Bethel asking us to "do our best."
=(
Well, I sort of anticipated a window between now and the actual follow up time so... although neither of the two calls are in my congregations territorry I do have one friend that is in the Arabic group (which has a pretty extensive territorry) she can have a brother from there call back on the first gentleman.
As for the second person, a girlfriend of mine is in one of the Spanish congregations over in the town where the second gentleman is from since he only works in the town that we contacted him in. I'm definitely going to do my best, my grandmother said she had a slip bounce back also so we'll see what happens * LIVY'S OPTIMISTIC SMILE/FACE*
