So, I found a program (well it was posted on Lifehacker) that goes through your entire iTunes collection and adds lyrics. I installed it and it's flying through my 40GB collection. It's REALLY good (although not perfect), and it doesn't seem to handle acoustic/live tracks, even if they have the same title, and it's can't figure out that "the Beatles" are the same as "Beatles".
Overall, highly recommended.
hmm. it also seems to have trouble with songs including parentheses or apostrophes.
in the end, i'd say it got about 70 - 80% of my songs. which isn't bad. i have learned a lot of lyrics in the past few days, it's really entertaining to watch/read while listening to some of my favorite songs.
I don't know if I've ever talked about this, but Lauren and I listen to music very differently. I don't hear lyrics, I hear sounds. the lyrics just sound like strung together sounds to me. Lauren like, analyzes lyrics, thinks about them, and draws conclusions. I mostly listen to the beat, the flow of the words and the sounds they create, and nothing else. It's odd that we like any of the same music at all.
so uh, my point to that rant was that i've learned a lot of lyrics in the past two days. haha. i said that already.
i'm the same as you. i can't really sing along to more than a bunch of songs, and even then i don't know a lot of the verses.
i would completely fail as a lead singer in a band.
