is file & print sharing turned on on the win98 box? is the printer Shared? do you have Client for Microsoft Networks installed on both machines? is NetBIOS enabled?

yes, yes, yes, hmmm...enabled where? tcp/ip not enough?

i believe it's a checkbox in the tcp/ip settings. it just helps windows find other windows machines over a tcp/ip network. oh, can you see the win98 in network neighborhood on the 2k box?
