pretty kewl...i hope they don't find an excuse to have jar-jar, tho
Maybe Chewbacca will be so annoyed with him that he'll do away with him...
i was so mad how they made everything his fault. stop blaming jar jar. jerk George Lucas. (if you've read any of the books, you know what i'm talking about. maybe you don't even have had to read them. i can't 'member.
i've only read the original trilogy
It's weird. I have like a million star wars books and my Empire and Return of the JEdi books are one's made from the screen play but my New Hope is written before the movies so it's really cool to see the difference.
i don't get it...how did u get that?
wait wait, there were no star wars books written before the movies, i thought. weren't all of them based on the movies?
The books that the movies are based off of? I don't really know..I gotta look at it again (cause I haven't touched it in years) I could be wrong but it's defiently way off in some aspects from the movie
from a star wars faq:
Q: Where can I find the novels for all the Star Wars episodes 1-9?
Was A New Hope a book before it was a film?
A: None of the films
are based on books. Here's basically what happened: George Lucas came up with
ascript for Star Wars. Unfortunately, it was too long, so he broke it up into
multiple films. Lucas decided to make the middle episode, A New Hope, the first
(and possibly only) film. As they were making the film, they wanted to generate
early buzz for it, so the novelization was released 1 year before the film came
out. It was ghost written by Alan Dean Foster, author of Splinter of the Mind's
Eye. The movie then came out later, so everyone thought the film was based on
the book. The novelizations to ESB and ROTJ came later with those films. Since
Lucas plotted all of the films out at once, many people mistakenly believe the
books of the other novels are already out. They aren't. Many people also
mistakely believe that the films that might come AFTER Return of the Jedi are
the ones written by Timothy Zahn or the other authors. This is also not true.
Lucas has publicly said he doesn't want to make any sequel films that would
follow ROTJ. And if he did, it would not be based on any of the novels.
so, wow, you must have the novelization that was released 1 year before A New Hope! cool!
Yeah that definetly must be it. It's really cool and all, sticking pretty much to the story line of course save for a few deviations which make it really interesting to read
good find. i had a teacher in 1982 (that's before ROTJ, right?) who told me about the clone wars, that the storm troopers were clones, and that anakin fights obi-wan and falls into the lava pits (hence the major respiratory equipment). i wonder where he got that info from.
well the fact of anakin falling into lava is in the ROTJ book, i have the 10th anniversary edition i picked up at MGM when I was younger, obi wan tells luke that's what happened to his father when they were talking on Degobah (wow i love star wars intricises...however you spell it)
