some of my personal favorties:

1) Catch 22!!!!!!!! so amazing. its like the wittiest banter you will every read. it may take a while cuz some parts you just have to re-read to catch the funny part but i've read it like 5 times already since january.

2) divine secrets of the ya-ya sisterhood.

3) schindlers list, but it might be too much if you don't like non-fiction. i usually don't but this story was good. tempted to puke a few times but just came out so great, and a fine story.

4) a tree grows in brookly

5) any and all of the baby-sitters club books.

6)jurassic park the book. the first one is 20 gazillion times better than the movie. but if you read it, you won't appreciate the movie anymore.

7)ella enchanted. even though its 4 little kids, i still gotta read it all the time.

8)the adventures of huckleberry finn

9)the pathwork girl of oz or any oz book you can find.
10)calvin and hobbs comic books

11)the pelican brief and the partner.

there are tons more but those came off the top of my head.
