Carl Jenkins . . . wow, I've haven't seen you in ages . . . but I'll never forget how I handed it to you at Marvel vs. Capcom at the boardwalk that time . . . you could've at least given me a CHALLENGE . . . but in answer to your question, someone said to me that "I'm just not attracted to guys of color . . . is that racist?" Maybe it's NOT based on some prejudice or racist attitude, but for someone like myself, who can find beauty in people of all nationalities, it just doesn't make any sense to me. Needless to say, my day was ruined . . . and I felt a need to vent . . . thus, my above journal entry . . . anymore questions?
I don't think whoever said that meant that offensively but it was probably more of a lack of tact and just saying pretty much the wrong thing completely. Everyone is physically attracted to a certain type of people. That doesn't mean they don't find other types of people good looking but the PHYSICAL attraction just isn't as strong. Example: I am very attracted to skinny white boys (skinny as in not even muscle..just toned). This does not mean, however, that I don't find guys of different backroungs attractive. A girl in my hall recently married one of the best looking guys I have ever seen, and he's black. Big deal. He's still good looking. Physical attraction is not always dealing with the mind and rarely has to do with personality because it's all physical.
you know i've been around some brothers who just because race is never an issue and they've said some odd things that lots of worldly persons would take offense but nobody blinked. maybe they didn't think of it as an issue and just aren't attracted to guys of color but that's a fact to them, not an issue.
