ok ready. here it is. i don't care WHAT color you are, you have to be attractive, well-dressed, and well spoken. regardless. it doesn't matter.those people who i see fitting those descriptions are usually one color. i mean, i look at conventions and whatever, and i don't see people of other races who fit all three requirements. 2 of the 3, sometimes. but mostly, i see all 3 coming from one race. which is not something i really control.
Having said that, when I go to a gathering or something where everyone is a different race, I dont' really care, because, hey, if you don't like punk music it's not the end of the world. but some of my friends will freak out, claiming there are "NOOO chicks" and it's lame.
wow . . . that was quite an opinion . . . but I'd like to think I'm at least one of a several exceptions to that rule . . . I mean I'd hate to think that I wasn't attractive, well-dressed, and well-spoken (at least at a convention - my social attire is another story) . . . The thing about generalities like that is that they can go both ways . . . I've seen people of ALL races who only fit 2 out of your 3 criteria . . . some, not even ONE. I can honestly say that I don't know many that have all three . . . coming from ANY race. I DO see a FACADE of well-spokenness and attractiveness, that soon disappears into anonymity once certain "goals" are achieved . . . but I think that's just common to most guys . . . and as far as taste in music goes, that's a whole different animal . . .
woah woah. hold up. see that kind of proves my point. it doesn't matter about if it's at a convention or outside, i'm looking for all 3 things all the time. i expect to see someone well dressed when out socially too. (not ridiculously nice. just, presentable.) and i'm sick of seeing expensive tee shirts with brand names on them being passed off as "nice clothing"...i'm sure everyone will have something to say about this...
I'm just a t-shirt and jeans kinda guy, to be sure . . . but mine generally fit . . . and it seems that your opinion of "nice clothing" may not necessarily be universal . . . there are a LOT of t-shirt & jeans kind of guys . . . from all walks of life, and that's a fact . . . but I'm not going to wear some khakis and a nice shirt if I'm going to be drumming . . . I'm wearing a wife-beater and shorts, and I'll take all the insults you'd like to dish out about that . . . but I think that age-old saying should here come into play: "Clothes don't make the man" . . . and that is an eternal truth . . . if its THAT much about what I'm wearing, then I think there's a problem. And again, I'd like to think I ALWAYS look presentable - as my mom always says, "you never know who you might see, so you always have to look good." Gotta love mom's . . .
no no no. see, the clothes are for the activity. drumming needs its own clothes. concerts need their own clothes. meetings- also their own clothes. (purple suits should not be part of that.) why do we pick clothes to discuss? what about attractiveness? let's pick that topic. come on now. i've never met any witness girls who look like holly berry, or lucy lu. (I know i'm not spelling well this morning.) I have met witness girls that look like models...kathy ireland comes to mind for some reason...
that's interesting . . . because there's another old saying that comes to mind . . . "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" . . . but if someone's attractive, they are just attractive . . . I don't find Kathy Ireland really that attractive, to be sure . . . but I don't expect model-quality out of my Witness girls . . . just a good attitude and a good personality . . . okay, okay, they have to be attractive too . . . and I'm not a fan of the purple suit either, BELIEVE me . . . can we say "tacky"? I have met some EXTREMELY attractive, model-quality Latina sisters, though . . . But I believe my original point was, whether there's a majority or a minority of a certain race that meet your specifications, the entire population should not be judged based on that. I just dislike when people judge FIRST based on race, and second, everything else . . . If the way a PERSON dresses is unattractive to you, that's fine, but if a sister of another race dresses in a way you would normally find attractive, do you eliminate her ANYWAY? THAT is the heart of the issue . . .
ok. if that's the issue...which i'm going to agree with you, that it is...then i do NOT disqualify her if she's attractive, dresses well, and is of a different race. in fact, i would be perfectly ok with that.
but let's put a slightly different spin on it...do these sisters who are well dressed and attractive LOSE something when they realize that they are thought of as attractive, regardless of race?
I don't think so, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean . . .
i think dans talking about girls that know they have what guys find attractive and then they become less attractive. right? that's what i got.
ahhahaha. that's dan's women requirements. 1) must be exotic--ex. lucy lui and halle berry (p.s. that's the correct spelling) 2) must dress nicely 3)must be spiritual 4) must not like milk.
wow. soo good. also, must be an extremely good driver. and athletic. hmm. ok. i'm done.
hahaha. you are so not. you probably have the perfect women pictured in your head with so many more qualities. 5) must be short because danhill is obsessed with shortness.
NOOOOOOOO. must NOT be short. do not confuse me with everyone else. she must be at LEAST 5 6'.
whoa... are u saying only white people are attractive, well-dressed, and well spoken? i totally disagree.
yo shut up man. you're not wanted.
whatever ricky scaggs
i think dan thinks that white people dont commit crimes either.
yeah i know, we should probably re-institute slavery while we're at it
c'mon, guys! dan's a nice guy. he had the sack to stand up and state his opinion regardless of any controversy he'd be dredging! Besides, i'm sure he'd be the kindest slave owner this side of the mississippi! yessum!
yeah, i dont agree with that either. i will say though, that i think a lot of times people of one race are mostly attracted to their own race, because they are similar. They say, that people look for a mate who is similar to their parents, so that would include race too.
i did a paper on this... the whole attraction action. familiarity, similarity, blah blah blah blah.. it's interesting stuff if you look into it all. it's bring up horrible memories of all the research i had to do . ugh ugh.. so many pages. but.. it makes for an interesing read.
