What does that mean....."it made LOTR look like a love story?" does that make LOTR look bad? or good in your mind? I don't get it. thanks

no i like LOTR very much, it just needs less violence, I couldn't watch some of it b/c of the goriness. If they took some of it out it wouldn't hurt the movie!

I think the books have the same amount of violence in them, maybe there is something different about seeing it on the screen?

well i just got done reading Fellowship and it seemed to focus more on the quest, with the Wraithes and the Orcs and such here and there. It was VERY talky. More of then saying 'Oh there is a great shadow passing over our land and we do fear it may take over even the Light' stuff like that over and over again. Anyway #2 was waaaaay to violent, but i have not read the Two Towers yet.I guess it had to be b/c of the battle scene, which was a major part of the movie. But really still i DO like the movies in general and the music is beautiful, and get me on a plane to New Zealand, STAT!

well The Fellowship is less fighting. Its more like the beginning of the quest. The end of the movie is the beginning of the 2nd book. Two Towers and ROTK have much more war in it, which you will see in the movies. They did a pretty good job staying true to the books. Some stuff is a little off, but they did it for the integrity of the movie.

my brother who is a LOTR nut said they really played up the Arwen /Aragorn love thing and u know there was really nothing at least in the first book about ANYTHING between them, maybe a hint of something, thats it.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

There is only a hint and it's not really brought out until the end of ROTH, or brought to attention. BUT if you read the appendix on them, their love affair had been going on from before the books started. In the first book she took the spot of Glorfindel, an Elf Lord who saved frodo at the river.
