i know what you're saying, for the most part. i've been to the warped every single year except the very first [96, i think] and the most recent [2003] and it's just gotten progressively more crowded and more weak. a strange way for it to go. no one is doing anything interesting anymore. don't get me wrong i wanted to go this year, but it was to see bands i'd already seen a few times. bands that already have a good name. none of the new bands on display are doing anything new or exciting. except BERET! but anyway, the fact that the weaker the line ups are, the more crowded it gets AND the younger the crowd gets--it just adds to the fact that these new bands suck and are ripping you kids off. it doesn't add up to me. but you all seem to love it so much, so i guess you're, in fact, NOT being ripped off! but there is much more intelligent, interesting, ground breaking stuff out there. you don't have to sit in a digusting sweating pit of juveniles to see good bands. good bands are all over the place. but soon--you'll be forced to grow out of it--because these bands absolutely will not last. in another ten years we'll talking about the one hit wonders of 00's the same way we talk about the one hit wonders of the eighties and nineties. s'all the same in the end.
