don't twinkies last forever though? so even if gamma bought them when your parents were 12, they would still be all good.
it's actually marshmallow. looked it up, and turns out there's a plant called a marsh mallow (mallow be of the genus Malva), and originally marshmallows were made from the root of the plant. now, of course, they're made of sugar.
