Some of us are more accident prone than others. For instance, over the past two years I have totalled two cars and got into one minor accident. However, there are those who think its all a state of mind...that they "don't do accidents."-that's a real live quote baby.
THAT would be me. and i stand by it.
It could just be that you're a bad driver? But I'm a bad driver and I haven't gotten in any real accidents yet, I do learn from my mistakes though.
Nobody has ever before told me that I was a bad driver. I'm careful, follow the rules, always use my signals...people who know me well don't understand how I have been in so many accidents. I have been told on more than one occasion that I am a walking disaster. Things break when I am near. I have the Midas touch, in reverse.
Aw, well then you're probably not a bad driver cause when you are people do tell you. It's probably just the careless mistakes of other people.
SEE?! people sometimes tell me i'm a bad driver. but they don't know that deep inside the chaos and seemingly unmeasured decisions and negations of my driving is a complete yet invisible CONTROL that i wield mightily! i drive as carefully as i can yet have as much fun as i can have while keeping myself and my passengers completely safe. a lot of it is mental. if you drive around repeating over and over in your head "accidents happen, accidents happen" then you instantly UP your chances of getting into an accident. when you let your confidence waiver terrible things tend to happen. you have to be aggressive about it. say "nope, i will not get into an accident." and you will have safe, pleasant driving experiences. it's almost the same as one of the rules of combat. that being 'always feel superior to the opponent regardless of apparent size and evidence of strength.' just go to it! don't let past experiences and societies saturation of statistics scare you. refuse to be a statistic. be confident on the road and you'll be A-Ok.
yeah good stuff brian. it helps me to think positive and whenever i drive, i'm not nervous at all.
Don't encourage him!
dude, whenever you start to feel down behind the wheel, just picture me smiling! and then picture me mooning all the wussy disastrous drivers out there who make driving expensive and dangerous for us confident accident-free folk!
oh that would definitely help me concentrate.
I should make my wife read this comment.
