So, it seems to me that every time I get into an intellectual conversation with someone it ends up becoming an argument. I really hate arguing. This is one of the reasons I try to avoid intellectual conversations at all costs. Another is that my work is essentially just thinking, and when I get home, I like to be able to shut my brain off for a while and not get into any deep discussions. Moreover, it seems to me that a smart girl would be more likely to question decisions I would make since they would think they know better. All in all, I'd rather not be married to someone who thinks they know how to run things better than I can. I think this sums up nicely why I prefer girls that are only moderately intelligent.

That's certainly possible. I guess I'm really most concerned with the last issue I brought up. It seems to me that it would be very hard for a very intelligent girl to be submissive. In fact, I have an enormous amount of respect for the sisters in the hall who actually do manage to be both. It just doesn't seem likely to find someone like that. (I'd love to be wrong, though.)

Ah..this makes me sick. I don't consider myself super-smart or anything like that, but I am of average if not above intelligence (or so I tell myself). Why don't you want to marry me!! I am actually very submissive, it's insane. I have such a fear of authority.
Like I said in another post, I'd love to be wrong about this conclusion I've come to about smart girls. Maybe I'm over-thinking this, since if a girl is spiritual it really shouldn't matter. Actually, you should probably take anything I say about girls with a grain of salt, since recently I've been getting kind of annoyed that most of the girls in my hall won't even say hello to me, and it's been getting me kind of down on girls altogether.
Well..it's like just because you're smart, doesn't mean you can't be obediant. Sometimes, it may even mean being smart enough to be obediant. Though, if a girl's husband is doing something completely stupid I don't think I would expect her to just go along with it.
yeah, it should definitely be a 50% 50% deal...guys who go on power trips & enjoy controling females, I can't stand that...if the husband's living up to his end of the bargain, w/christ as his head, there should be an extreme lack of problems, and when they do come up, they should never be detrimental

I might be labeled a traitor to the female cause, but I always feel really bad after I flip out and say sorry a million times. I hate that. I can't always expect my boyfriend to see things the way I do...especially when he only can go by my IM convos and tone of voice over the phone. I need to communicate my thoughts better. hey, i dont think thats very fair to say...i know a lot of guys who are much more moody then me. I can't remember the last time I really had a fight with a friend or boyfriend...except once...and in that case, i wasn't the one who got mad.
