Did anyone else notice that this site also has information on frequency of first names? (My middle name, Micah, is the 520th most popular male first name in the United States; frequency is 0.017%; percentile is 84.820 [SourceCBN].)
Julia is the 89th most popular female first name in the United States; frequency is 0.223%; percentile is 40.711 [SourceCBN

Lindsay is the 302nd most popular female first name in the United States; frequency is 0.060%; percentile is 66.507 [SourceCBN]
I'm guessing this means that there are some guys out there named lindsay?
Yup. A lot of those English/Irish names that end in y are unisex. Shirley, Courtney, Lindsay, Terry, etc...
Have you ever met a male Lindsay?
I HAVE! I HAVE! hes a big guy too... like you would expect him to be a skinny nerdy guy... but hes really tall and built... MMMM! haha ok i'm done...
heyyy is he really blonde?
u met him u retard...
relax capitan that's what i was trying to figure out.
haha yea, i only know ONE male Lindsay and hes it...
The guitarist from Fleetwood Mac is named Lindsay Buckingham...he used to be married to Stevie Nicks.
Interesting..it just doesn't seem like a good guy's name.
Really? It sounds a little unusual to me because I'm so used to Lindsay being a girl's name, but, frankly, I think it sounds better as a guy's name.
Why do you say that? I think it's a very feminine name.
To me "Lindsay" sounds very neutral, and I don't like girl's names to sound neutral. To be honest, there are very few girl's names that I actually like, and almost all of those that I do like end in 'a'. I tend to think they sound more feminine that way.
Really? I tend to think that L's are very feminie. Like, even the name Lawrence isn't too manly sounding and...well I don't like the name Larry but it's the nasty A in there that makes it sound more manly then the L does.
what about luke? or louis? or lester, lenny, lambert, lampton, or lonnie? lonnie can go both ways. hehe... go both ways... hehe
Hah, when I was trying to think up L names I couldn't think of ANY! But you're right. Luke..that's definetly a guy and Louis that can be a girl name, Lester..ugh.
L's definitely do help make a name sound more feminine. In fact, my favorite girl's name has an l in it. But "Lindsay" (as well as the other names I mentioned) sounds more tomboyish than feminine to me.
that's a good point, gab
Also, the Mets had an annoucer who has died ( i think) Lindsay Nelson.
and lindsay hunter of the detroit pistons
Lindsay Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac
yeah mine's not there
