I have a LOTR question...
I want to read the books and it seems like they are packaged in sets with the Fellowship, Two Towers, and Return of the King...but I thought that the whole thing started with the Hobbit. I don't want to start with Fellowship just because thats the title of the first movie. I want to start from the very beginning and get the whole picture. Can someone help me?
yep!
Start with The Hobbit. If you like it, start reading LOTR.
I knew that you would be the person to answer this...thanks Ian.
Yeah..starting with the Hobbit is a good place, though it's my least favorite out of all of them. You don't need to read the Hobbit to understand all the other books though. If you end up enjoying all four books, try to read the Silmarillion so I can talk with someone about it!
The Silmarillion was awesome. I really need to reread it sometime.
