and - a word i use to link other words together. ex: this and that, near and far, etc. you can use it for other stuff too though... AND HOW!! or sometimes if you're just pissed off... AND!!! I think i first started using this one in like 7th grade.

the - a definite article I sometimes use before singular or plural nouns and noun phrases to denote particular, specified persons or things. ex: the blanket, the clouds, etc. we use it in the phrase "what the heck!?" i think we got this one from dumb and dumber or something.
