Ocean Slip n Slide

Just what it sounds like. A slip n slide, and an ocean. Together. And if all else fails, there is always beach volleyball.
Exit 117 on NJ Pkwy. Take Route 36 (bear left after the exit tolls) all the way down to the beach. Pass Sandy Hook and keep going. You'll go through the town of Sea Bright-passing a 7-11. Go a couple of miniutes further and you will see the Monmouth Beach Educational Center-a white building w/ a little steeple/tower watch thing-on your right. There should be orange cones around too. park in that parking lot then walk across the street and over the sea wall. Call my cell or Andrew's if you don't see us.

They're having my brother and sister-in-law over saturday too. I'll wait and see what Donovan wants to do; how badly he wants to play volleyball. My grandparents live in Jamesburg, so we'd see you guys that night anyway.

Ok, i'm confused. is the ocean the slip and slide? are we going to slip and slide into the ocean? Wouldn't we just hydroplane on it for a bit then sink? Can i make older, more fragile-boned people slip and perhaps slide on parts of the beach?

I gave this event some thought, and I'm getting wary of this.
First of all, Slip N Slide requires a hose. Any body got a hose long enough to reach to the beach? Sure we can use sea water, but running water is a little bit better than dumping buckets of water in the slip and slide.
Second...does anyone realize that high speeds; plus hot, searing sand; plus bare skin equals a bloody mess?
It seems everyone has thrown caution to the wind...and that's my job.
buckets of water will be enough as long as it's kept wet.
Plus for stuff like this I'm Janine's test dummy. lol
but sea water is slippery from the salt (and little jellies that have been floating around). Have you ever tried grabbing someone who is wet from ocean water? slippery like an eel. Plus we will bring a couple of items to help us slide along if necessary.
i'm not sure exactly how fast YOU can run, but i wouldn't classify this as high speed. and a little sand rash never killed anyone. besides, we had already decided to bring some inner tubes to use instead just in case of that scenario.
I will say though, that to my knowledge, this is not a tested and proven form of good times. i don't know for sure how well it will work. but we're willing to pioneer it. and if it doesn't work, abandon it for beach volleyball and some rounds of "super eat it" and "fat mermaid"
what happenes if it rains, i wish i could go but ill be just recovery surgery so i wont be able to go :(

i had to change the time to 11:30.-forgot we had the co changed to this week. gotta put in an appearance for sat. morn service. but we can stay at the beach as long as we want.

i was there but didnt see anyone from thie group of course its hard when idont know what any of u look like i sat by the volleyball net and had a blue boogie board there . oh well maybe ill meet up with some of u some other time
i had a great time and never even got wet! and i got to talk to katie! it was awesome.
