-Jesus and all the apostles have long, dirty lookin messy hair. Wasn't it against the law for Jewish men to have long hair like a women? And the hair is dirty and not groomed. would Jesus, walk around with dirty, long ungroomed hair?

they were extras from the Lord of the Rings movie, probably a battle scene.
i cringe whenever i see secular film and art depictions and renditions of jesus and such. theres seems to me thats theres NO right away to present them. and i don't think it should be done THIS way. these guys look like skeevy meth dealers who not only SELL meth, but USE meth.
yeah but there is this part in the second isiah book where they used a wordly painting of jesus talking to ceasur.
yeah i noticed that. Thats a really awesome painting
The colors in that picture are amazing..I don't know why that strikes me but it does.
it's a famous painting. it's credited. and that was Pilate, i believe.
looks like a bunch of hippys, tree huggin hippys!
another related though----
we were recently arguing about in every picture the society ever makes of jesus that he always has a bear because jewish men had to have beards (trimmed of course) but i remember seeing pictures where he didn't have them but i can't seem to find the proof.
haha, you forgot the d in beard, so i thought you meant beer....and i was thinking....hmm, i don't recall jesus having a beer in his hand EVER!
Wow..glad I caught who wrote this before I sounded like a complete idiot. Why I was gonna sound like an idiot:
I saw the "m" and though magnum and I was going to say how weird it was because Malibu and I were just in a fight with Jesse Hughes about how there are definetly pictures where Jesus doesn't have a beard. But..Malibu wrote that comment.
On the other hand I was wondering when Jesus ever wore a bear.
awww man i got snagged twice. yes for anyone who was confused, i meant if there were any society picture where jesus did not heave a BEARD
he heaved a beard???? he shouldn't do that....man, i'm such a loser for giving you a hard time
hahahah. no its okay. i just mess up so much. but there you are to correct them so evuantally i'll stop making them....
"i'm looking for a picture in which the society depicts jesus as no having a beard."
while writing this i wrote heave two more times, but i fixed it.
hahaha....well, now its almost right....except the no should be not....hahaha, but all these mistakes still make sense with the typos...so it doesn't matter...but now that i've started....
hahaha. i shall hunt down all your typos and incorrect grammer. hahahaha. the feud has started.
or we could both pretend that we are reaf and it doens't matter.
yeah... and you guys think jesus was actually caucasian?
how did you get that out of what i said? i don't think it matters whatever he was. i was talking bout the beard. (not meant to be said meanly in any way)
i didn't, i got it from the picture. he's usually depicted as a white guy. just wondering what you guys thought.
i always thought although he is usually white, look at the new children's book. we have definetly never seen him depicted so different!! like his skin is a lot darker and his eyes deeper set. but consider where jerusalem is and what kind of people live there now. he is definetely darker skinned. but it doesn't matter that much anyways. his example he set for us was good.
: ) that's exactly the point i was making.
well i realize that. we were just discussing if he had a beard or not.
Im not saying your wrong, but the people who live in Jerusalem now came from Arabia in the 800's and 900's when the Muslim's spread. The people who are Jesus color, most likely, are modern-day Jews, so he could be a little dark, but not as dark as people living there today....not that there is anything wrong with that
thanks there professor. why don't you go read a book
i think certain pictures of Jesus as a baby, he doesn't have a beard, but only certain ones
I think it was something like pre-1940 the Society didn't depict Jesus as having a beard, because before then, the general public viewed people having beards, as crooked-men. You know, like men with something up their sleeve, and whatnot ...not trustworthy. So, if literature was being offered, with pictures of Jesus with a beard, the householder might not be so prone to accept. Obviously, when you're preaching, you don't want them to view him, in a wrong light. Especially during the 20s this was an issue. If you weren't clean-cut, even if you were worldly, forget it. But, of course the times marched on, and people that didn't fit this bill, began growing beards, also. So no longer, did it mean, you were a certain type of person, because you had a beard. Come like the 40s, they depicted Jesus with the beard. I just saw depictions of Jesus without the beard, a couple of weeks ago, at Bethel.
In "The Kingdom is at Hand" there is a picture of Jesus being baptized by John between pages 64 and 65, and he doesn't have a beard in that picture. In fact, he has blonde hair and blue eyes.
On a side note, did anyone else know that there is a topless picture of Eve on page 112 of "The Truth Shall Make You Free"? I just found it now flipping through some of the old publications that I have.
r u sure you're lookin through christian publications?
He's right on both of those, actually. About the first ...I just saw that picture at Bethel, a couple of weeks ago. And, about the second, I vaguely remember that from years ago, now that he brings it up, when looking through old publications in the library, at my old Kingdom Hall. Publications have changed through the years, as the light grew brighter. In fact, old Watch Tower's had crosses on them, and Satan the Devil, used to be depicted as how the World still today, depicts him. ...as being this creature that stands upright, with a tail and two horns. The light grew brighter, thankfully.
what are you talking about...
Where did you find this? Were you randomly looking up pictures of Jesus?
