Four Eyes
by Lately, i've been hearing more and more people talk about wearing contacts. This is so weird, to me, because I always figured that most people had good eye sight. But, now I learn, that most of my friends, actually just wear contacts, so I just never knew they have bad eyes.
So, out of curiousity, do you:
Wear contacts or glasses or just have good eye sight?

I wear contacts, yeah call me four eyes! LOL Although i love the fact that there are pretty cool glasses out there to choose from so i use both. the thing i hate when you wear glasses, is when people say, "Oh my gosh, you look so smart with glasses" uh do i look naturally dumb with out them? lol

Because people know that glasses generally don't make them look better so to make people feel better they started telling them that wearing glasses makes them look smarter. It's the only compliment people could come up with.
generally people who read a lot and do tons of science experiments use their eyes more strenuously and are constantly analyzing things, putting more than the usual strain on thier eyes. thats why they say smart people wear glasses. it's an old, tired addage that doesn't apply anymore. because i know people, who are stupid, without an ounce of common sense, who have never conducted a single science experiment, who wear glasses.
you know what's bad. a night of drinking ... umm...stuff. and then your body is all dehydrated, except, you didnt' drink any water yet, but your eyes are all dry, and you can NOT get your contacts OUT. wow. i hate that. don't sleep with them in after drinking, they'll be glued in there
I wear contacts. I didn't have bad eyesight until the end of 8th grade, and finally got glasses in 9th grade, and contacts at the end of 9th grade.
I wear glasses only at night before bed, but I really wish I didn't have to. Of course, I hate the contacts too. Oh well....no perfect eyesight until the new system.
OK, first off, i'd like to express my anger and annoyance @ your ASSUMPTION that, since YOU have naturally good eye sight, that, everybody else should too...d'you consider us all inferior now that you know about our poor eyesight?..Was this thread made, to mock us?..

i wear contacts....I get those disposable ones..haha..you're supposed to wear them for 2 weeks..I kid you not, i've been wearing this pear for 3 months...hahaha..& they're still just as good....I think they're immortal
I do the same thing. I get the disposable ones then just keep wearing them till they start bothering me. I think I've been wearing my current pair for a few months now and no problems so far.
haha, no no...i'm just really surprised. Because...well, i just thought bad eye sight was more rare. But, from what this forum shows, and from what some of my friends have said...i'm completely wrong. I mean, i never ever would have guessed you wore contacts. I almost feel like i'm missing out on a special club or something....you all wake up every morning and put you're little contacts in (with the excpetion of mel who sleeps with them,haha), so that you can see the world. It's just weird/intriguing...yet, so common

especially in the summer when you are driving and you don't have prescription sunglasses, so you burn holes in your retina. or you get attacked by a shark in the ocean because you couldn't see the dorsal fin swimming your way.
or when you trip over your own feet because you can't seem them, Or slap your self in the face because you can't see where your hands are.
once i couldn't see my glasses so i sat down to try and remember where i left them before flipping out. i found them under my butt...flattened.

neither could any of us @ first..everybody's first contact experience, is full of eye pokes, crying, and retinal discomfort..but, like after 4 days you get the hang of it..I can flip'm up in the air & catch'm w/my eyelide now...
I actually want to get those contacts that make the outside of your eyes turn yellow but keep the inside the same color. That way my eyes would look like wolves eyes. How sweet would that be.
From what I've heard, disposable contacts are identical to the non-disposable ones. Only the packaging is different.
As far as I can tell they are exactly the same the only difference is price. Disposable are cheaper. I use disposable contacts and from time to time just use some protein remover to get rid of the protein.

i have a very weak prescription for driving..but i like wearing my glasses. i was one of hte first ones to get the dark black rims. before they got all..trendy!
i wear contacts all the time.. i usually sleep in them.. i have glasses... i just don't enjoy them..

It's only torture when you wake up and you have to peel them off your eyes because they have dried out and stuck to your eyeball. It's a pretty freaky feeling.
I used to fall asleep in them all the time. It's really bad for your eyes though. At least that's what they keep telling me.
wow, i could never wear contacts....the whole touching your eye thing really freaks me out...doesn't it hurt to put them in and take them out?
No it doesn't hurt. You get used to it. The first time I put them in my eyes watered like crazy but after that they were fine.

yeah, I binge and purge with my contacts/glasses. I wear my 2-week contacts for about 3 months, sleeping in them every night. Then when they get uncomfortable, I chuck em and wear glasses for about 1.5 months. Then it's back to contacts again.
HUN!!! I used to work in an Ophthamologist's office, under the optician, and she had a guy come in who never took out his contacts, and he had veins growin in his iris cuz his eye was suffocating! It was nasty! Be careful! Follow your optician's directions!

I got glasses when I was in 1st grade. Since then my eye sight has rapidly declined. I can't see anything if I'm not wearing contacts or glasses. You should have seen the glasses I used to wear when I was little. Their pretty funny.
Anywho I've been wearing contacts for 6 years now and I only wear my glasses when I go to bed I wear my contacts 90% of the time.

I love wearing glasses...I've had them since I was in sixth grade. And now, I am blind enough were they have to shrink the width of my lens in order for them to fit my frames. I have the coolest frames. I love them.

I finally got glasses sophmore year when I realized I couldn't see things other people could. I still wear them now..contacts freak me out.

I wear contacts 50% of the time, and glasses the other 50%. got glasses in like 3rd grade or something, and contacts in middle school sometime.
Now, without my glasses or contacts, I can't see clearly more than 6 inches away.

i wear contacts now, used to wear glasses tho. they gave me headaches and fevers, bleh. but contacts are way better. at first i didn't wanna get them cuz my eyes are pretty sensitive and putting them in would be heck, but i adjusted in a week. it's so much better.
I am nearly legally blind. I usually wear contacts, but lately I've been rockin my new rimless glasses with a purple non-reflective tint!
i've worn contacts since i was 19 or so. i can't imagine why i didn't get them sooner. the best is being able to wear sunglasses and not look stupid and crash into stuff. also, snowboard goggles. also, you have perpherial vision.
i also sold some friends on them, they were like "they're expensive, i can't", and i was like "yo check out 1-800contacts.com"
I have eyesight that is just good enough that glasses or contacts don't help, but bad enough that I can't see things that I know I should be able to.
