i have gas

thefunkyfresh by thefunkyfreshFounder · Mar 10, 2004 · 626 views

This would probably never work, and I can't believe I'm actually spamming ezabel with this, but i'm just so sick of gas prices going up that i've become desperate, haha... anyway... fight the man

Subject: GAS PRICES

A pretty simple plan to take the power back. I'm in.

Read on.... Subject: GAS WAR!

Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we may hit close to $3.00 a gallon by the summer. Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that
Because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really
work.

Please read it and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $1.97 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50- $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace....
not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!
And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If
they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point...
keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it
to
at

least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least
ten

more (300 x 10 = 3,000)... and so on, by the time the message reaches
the

sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION

consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten

friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it
goes

one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all. (If
you

don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do
is
send

this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a
mathematician.

But I am ... so trust me on this one.)

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to
ten
more

people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could
conceivably

be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you I didn't think you
and I

had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a
difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD
OUT

UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN.
THIS

CAN REALLY WORK.

i want to get a civic hybrid...it gets like 50-60 miles to the gallon!

perrin #7.1 perrinOG 2004

Yeah well I used to have a chevrolet sprint. It used to get 50 miles to a gallon. It was great I could get $5 worth and drive forever. It had 3 cylinder power. OH YEAH!!! It was great.

yodasucka #7.2 yodasuckaOG 2003

how many miles are cars suposed to get? i can drive about 200 miles before filling up... is that bad or good?

perrin #7.2.1 perrinOG 2004

Well that varies from car to car how much they are supposed to get. It also depends on the size of your tank, how much gas it can hold.

yodasucka #7.2.1.1 yodasuckaOG 2003

o hm... i think mines good... i drive at least 2 hours in it every day and a tank lasts me about a week

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

2 hours a day X 7 days a week, thats 14 hours per week driving. so 200 miles a week / 14 hours per week = an average speed of 14.2 miles per hour. GET OUTTA MY WAY GRANDMA!!!

thatdarngirl #7.2.2.1 thatdarngirlOG 2002

That's what I get too..though supposedly that's not very good. My dad's saturn can get 40 on the highway..I love driving that car!

perrin perrinOG 2004

Yeah 20 is ok but not that great. My current car gets about 40 I'd say around 40 is good.

weird, i was listening to that song on my way home from jersey last night

violetboregaurd #5 violetboregaurdOG 2003

i just found out that on your taxes you can claim 15 cents a mile. So if you keep a record of it it adds up and that is a deductible in itself. Information i could;ve used yesterday!!

perrin #5.1 perrinOG 2004

Are you sure about that? I thought that was only if you have a job that requires driving and you could only count the miles while you were working.

malibu #5.1.1 malibuOG 2001

like pioneering? cuz someone told me that they were allowed to do this.

perrin #5.1.1.1 perrinOG 2004

I really don't know that's why I was asking.

iwz #5.1.1.2 iwz

yeah, pioneers can claim that. also, 50% of money spent on meals in the ministry.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

can you be continuous auxilary or do you HAVE to be regular?

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

Actually, an elder in my hall told me anyone can claim that deduction.

perrin perrinOG 2004

Is he an accountant?

iwz iwz

yeah, that could be true. makes sense to me. if in doubt, read the stuff, or check with an accountant.

perrin perrinOG 2004

Yeah you always should check into something like this before doing it. If your really not sure and have no way of finding out when in doubt do without. Works very well when it comes to things like this and escpecially with the truth as well.

perrin perrinOG 2004

Oh man I wish I knew that. Oh well. to late now. I'll have to keep that in mind when I start again in september.

iwz #4 iwz

egads. the least you could have done it removed the > characters and formatted it properly. :(

thefunkyfresh #4.1 thefunkyfreshFounder

i added those and formatted it like this for better readability... man... u try and try but just get no appreciation

ilikebirds #3 ilikebirdsOG 2002

ilikebirds #3.1.1 ilikebirdsOG 2002

when i typed out water, i really thought pee. but i didn't want to get dirty.

socalgal #2 socalgalOG 2003

I'm SO over the high prices....try paying $2.50 for regular unleaded and filling up an SUV - GRRRRR

yodasucka #2.1 yodasuckaOG 2003

ouch... thats gotta hurt

socalgal #2.1.1 socalgalOG 2003

yeah i'm almost @ $50 for a fill up - NOT GOOD! thats a pair of shoes or a hockey ticket to a game! LOL

fivezero #2.1.1.1 fivezeroOG 2003

thats amazing. it costs me half that to fill my tank and i have a pretty big car. i'd invest in a turbo-charged vespa or something.

yodasucka #2.1.1.2 yodasuckaOG 2003

o man.. it costs me $15 to fill up my tank.. but that only lasts me about 5 days since i drive so freaking much

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

the upside, my tank gets GREAT mileage...

*I envy you *sigh*

perrin #2.1.1.3 perrinOG 2004

It's sad when it costs as much to get gas as it does to go to a hockey game. Something needs to be done about this. lol

yodasucka #1 yodasuckaOG 2003

i only buy gas from those crappy "no brand" places... i get it for 1.47!

thatdarngirl #1.1 thatdarngirlOG 2002

I only buy at BP cause I have a card for them.

tinser #1.1.1 tinserOG 2002

yeah, i only buy mobil or exxon, because the gas card rocks

forrestina #1.2 forrestinaOG 2002
