My mom calls it Cottage Pie. I call it delicious.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
8 servings of mashed potatoes
pie crust
1 pkg of brown gravy
8 x 8 pan
Grease the bottom of the 8 x 8 pan with butter or margarine. Lay the pie crust in the pan, forming it to its shape. Throw it in an oven at 400 degrees until browned.
Take a pound of ground beef and brown it. Drain the grease, then mix in a package of brown gravy with 1 cup of water. Simmer it until the gravy thickens as you mix it with the meat.
Make 8 servings of instant mashed potatoes. Follow the directions on the box.
Lay the meat on top of the browned crust, then the mashed potatoes on top of that. Throw it in the oven at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. For added taste you can put shredded cheese on top afterwards.
What you have is a tasty concoction known as cottage pie. The dinner of champions for the single guy.

what! this sounds better than real shepherds pie?!? how could instant mashed potatos be better than the real thing?! and shepherds pie has all the yummy veggies in there, and it's usually made with chunks of lamb (or beef, or mutton) not ground anything.
can we make it with graham pie crust?
