so i love going out to eat at interesting restaurants and cool different types of food. and i'm always looking for different good restaurants to go too. i always had one strict rule about never eating tofu but i was at this indian restaurant in the i.t.c. the other day and i didnt' know what i was eating was tofu and it was so delicious. no now i would have to say i have no restrictions. (well except for my belt) and i know several other people are too for different areas and different occassions. so just how he have in like music forum i thought it would be a good idea to pump one out for restaurants. like what type of food it is, expensive?, and where it is. just little general food guides for your favorite restaurants.

GYU KAKU

Is AMAZING it's Japanese BBQ spot.
A few friends and myself went to their Midtown location.
The menu is great with a lot of interesting dishes to choose from.
I'm thinking about getting a group to go back soon I was really impressed.
I love the bbq right at the table makes it very interactive and adds a fun twist to things!

An avocado salad I had w/ fresh tuna

Has anyone ever tried either Fogo De Chao Brazilian Churasccaria or Seafood Room Oceanaire? Both sound awesome and have gotten great reviews, but i wanted to hear from someone first hand. There are several of both in diff states. We'll go to the one in Baltimore. My parents are here visiting so i wanna make sure it's good.

I think people on here were talking about the Melting Pot? It's a fondue restaurant across the country.

We went last night to the one in Baltimore. And, yea, me & Austin were pretty disappointed. I mean, it wasn't awful, but like, the 1st course was the cheese fondue, and it just tasted like, a melted a block of chedder, no other flavorings, and then besides bread, they gave you raw brocolli & cauliflower, which is weird, it would have been good if it was cooked. Then next was salad, which was really good. Next the main course, which was all raw marinated steak, chicken & lobster, that you skewer and set in the fondue pot that has broth in it to cook it. That was okay, nothing great. Then the dessert course was really good, chocolate fondue and they gave you all kinds of fruit & brownies, etc. so that was really good.

Anways, it was really expensive. The bill was like $250 bucks for four people, but my inlaws paid because it was our anniversary gift. So that was really nice. plus we each had a few drinks. But basically, base price per couple is like $100. So still, pricey, and not great. I do not recommend! Or go maybe just for dessert, because that was good, plus for the novalty of it.

Dallas BBQ is good food. Had that in NYC two weeks ago. It's cheap too.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003 ·

You all need to go to this restaurant next time you're in Philly. It was fantastico! It is a combonation of different kinds of food: Greek, Morroccan, Portuguese. Everything from the complimentary (homemade)bread & hummus to the grilled cheese stuffed calamari to the baklava was perfect. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. GO!

The prices are very reasonable for lunch $10-$12 for your entree. And on sundays they have a brunch menu with a complimentary mimosa or bellini.

For dinner it's more in the $25-$30 range. It had a live singer & bass player on sunday afternoon as well.

And the decor was like...what I want my house to look like. (Go look at the pics) Even the bathroom looked like a five star hotel.

Okay, I've ranted enough. Just go check it out. And tell me when you're going. Thanks. :)

Continental, Souzai Sushi, Phillips Seafood, Buddakan and Game On open at the Pier Shops at Caeasars in Atlantic City

It's attached to Caeasars but it's not part of the casino

Cara Mia's is really good, and its right on main street in Hackettstown, NJ. It's a nice little whole in the wall, with decent prices, nice atmosphere, and primarily delectable italian cuisine.

My two favorite restaurants in Napa, CA:

Bouchon and Bistro Jeanty.

Both amazing French restaurants. The chef at Bouchon just released a cookbook which I'm super excited to get. In fact, I think I've been more in love with French food the past few months mostly because these two places are so great. And the prices were very reasonable - $30 or so for dinner. The owner of Bouchon also owns The French Laundry, also in Napa, which is considered to be the best restaurant in the country. It's won awards every year for like the past 15 years. It's a tasting menu for $250/plate, though.

Max Brenner's. Or Chocolate by the bald man. Very good very unique types of hot chocolate served in 'hugger' mugs. There are different types of drinks based on different types of chocolate with varying degrees of taste and thickness and flavorings. The menu mostly consists of chocolates or things you can fondue in chocolate. Absolutely the best for anyone who really loves chocolate. Not very expensive for what you are getting...

hmmm, i got a few so in case you're ever my way (OC) my fav is Mr Stox, in Anaheim, its across the street from Angel Stadium. Im not of a meat eater (steaks anyway) but they have the most delicious steaks. a little pricey but SO well worth it....bout $50+ its cozy and quaint.

also, Marrakesh, awesome Moroccan food!!! Its in Newport Beach full on 5 course mean, you can choose quail, rabbit, chicken, and the food keeps on comin!! LOL the hottest thing, are you're in these small rooms sitting on these huge velvet pillows and belly dancers are roaming the restaurant. Price is $40+

for mexican, hit up Las Brisas, it's overlooking the ocean in Laguna Beach, if you sit on the patio in the evening you can totally enjoy an awesome sunset!! thats about $20-50.

its an indian restaurant and it is spicy so beware. but they have an extremely delicious variety of desserts. like sliced carrots steamed with cinnamon and raisins. and tons bread varieties besides just normal naan.they rock a great lunch buffet for $8 that always includes one dessert and tons of their specialty dishes. make sure to try the lamb vindaloo and tandoori chicken. sometimes there is a sitar player and they give cooking lessons that i'm dying to take. run by the sweetest indian woman ever.

ninja in nyc
clearly only for special occassions and when you got like $70 to blow on dinner. but trust me it will be amazing and fighting ninjas and mazes WILL be involved.

claudio's tex mex. in the shopping plaza in landing with the pathmart
their menu is huuge and everything is so fresh. and believe it or not the burritos are bigger than qudobas'. they have an awesome burrito called harvest mon and it's all good veggies like squash, zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms. and they have really good all natural shakes like guava, blackberry, and pineapple. i haven't tried them for breakfest but they have it and it looks good.

oksana's carpathian cuisine. rt 46 budd lake, nj
went for lunch today and was amazing. all entrees come with this rockin salad that i cant even explain the dressing besides the fact that it's amazing. everything is like homemade goulash and pierogies. which the pierogies were the best!! in a buttery sauce wiht crushed peppercorns for just the right kick. romanian, russian, polish, and scandanavia $8-$15

I really miss all the good food in NJ. Two of my fave's near where I used to work in Florham Park:

Panevino Restaurant - 637 W Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston. Fabulous wood fired pizzas and very classic italian food. About $15-30 for dinners.

Cullen's - Columbia Turnpike near Hanover Road (in the Trader Joe's complex). This place has THE most amazing lunches. It's cafeteria style, but the food is gourmet. Plus, they have prepared food. I would get a cup of soup for lunch and a whole roasted chicken with 2 sides for dinner and pay about $25 for all of it. It's all very fancy and very delicious.

yaffa cafe-st marks, nyc. open 24 hours, 7 days a week and the most random assortment of people eat there. if the waiters are digging a cd, they will keep it on repeat for hours on end. the place is decorated with what look like garage sale rejects. they usually serve up lukewarm glasses of water. my favourite are the chicken fingers which are really super thin chicken cutlets served with this amazing honey mustard sauce. and for dessert the walnut sour cream apple pie. get there early on a nice night and ask to eat on the patio.
