Chocolate Cranberry Cookies

1/2 cup Butter
1 cup All Purpose Flour
3/4 cup Sugar
1 whole Egg
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 cup Quick Cooking Rolled Oats
1 cup Coarsely Chopped Cranberries
1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts
1/2 cup Milk Chocolate Chips

In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for about 30 seconds or until softened.

Add the flour, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, egg, and baking powder. Scrape the sides of the bowl occasionally while mixing and beat until thoroughly combined.

Stir in the rolled oats, chocolate chips, cranberries, and walnuts.

Drop by rounded teaspoons on to greased cookie sheets approximately 1 in. apart.

Bake at 375F for 10 to 12 minutes.

Cookies are done when the edges are lightly browned.

Remove cookies from baking sheet and cool on wire racks

my only question is; why put cranberries in it? fruit automatically makes baked goods worse ( except for most berries... cranberries are disgusting). like jim gaffigan said: "fruit, good. cake, even better. fruit cake, nasty crap."

also, whose idea was it to put walnuts (or any type of nut) in cookies. if you had a choice between walnuts or no walnuts in your chocolate chip cookie, who would ever choose to have it with walnuts? or rolled oats? what are rolled oats any way.

all im saying is if you want to make these cookies like a thousand times better, loose the oats, walnuts, cranberries and cinnamon, and you got yourself a really good cookie.

i prefer cookies with walnuts or macadamia nuts actually

last cookie i had i think was one of those white chocolate macadamia ones

those are good

oh you missed a step

apply cookies to waist and hips, because that's where they're going

lame. if you have that attitude about everything you eat you wont enjoy life! everything in moderation.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

yeah i can't control myself when it comes to cookies haha - i don't buy them, don't make them - if i buy them it's like the 1 or 2 cookie things at coffee shops.

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

well, what i did is make them for company, so all i can have is one or two! and the rest get eaten or taken home for other people! haha

btw it is really hard not to be rude when people bring dessert to your house and you really want them to take it home with them. You don't want them to think it sucked, you just don't want it in the house!!

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

yeah totally.

I find that if I make cookies/brownies/sweet breads from scratch, I eat less because I want it to last longer so I don't have to go through the hassle of making them often!
