YIKES, i havent bought cd's in forever. the very last was System.
I think before that was Gwens, and before that............ Romanza-andrea buchelli, i duno how to spell it.
I forget to by them usually.
aw, the song on romanza "vivo per lei" was my wedding song.
so I walked into walmart to get some organization goods for the magazine room, and some shoelaces for my dress shoes. I left with 2 cd's of funk, and the organization goods.
Those funk cd's are ah-mazing!!! A lot of great stuff on them, like: Rick James, War, Average White Boys, Wild Cherries, Kool and the Gang....etc. I really like them.
OMG those are so fun!! i remember when i was little those were always playing on my sister's 8 tracks. LOL
lol, we have Kool and the Gang and Doobie Brothers on 8track!
VINTAGE memories. I have an 8 track stereo system...my grands' sister used to have an antique/"everything under the sun" shop. Hmmm I got no funk. I do have some Four Seasons & sum Chicago :)
Habana Blues soundtrack.--good movie about this awesome band struggling to survive in cuba. bluesy and rock. with hot guys. one just looks eerily like lenny kravitz.

At the Social Distortion show I went to on Friday, Mike Ness was talking about the old days of being a punk. He said how some of the people at the show were probably beaten up by jocks back in the day. He said, "Where are those idiots now, though?" Everyone cheered. "They're probably listening to f***ing Green Day." Everyone laughed.

hows the new mars? i've only heard the widow. i dig that tune.
the first five or so songs are amazing. the rest of just the guys noodling around and stuff. i love it a lot. it's a must have in my opinion. the most unique and imaginative stuff that's out now. cop it. L'Via L 'Viaquez, Cygnus, Miranda. unreal.
i couldn't believe the sound of deloused in the comatorium. bryan had me listen to it in hot topic and i bought it on the spot. so...alien.
NOW Frances the Mute is in the vein of Deloused, for sure. BUT, imagine the ALIENS being very...spanish.

i bought a muddy waters cd the other day. sooo cheap at fye which is rare. amazing old rhythm and blues guitar. down south soul. love him.
I actually picked up a classical guitar CD this weekend and a "world flutes" cd - a really cool japanese flute type thing that makes me feel like i'm at a spa getting a massage. Very relaxing.
Downloaded both the of the new Bright Eyes CDs. Very pretty stuff.
Bought the Mars Volta's new one, Frances the Mute. Astounding.
Honorable mention: Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralyze. S'pretty good. Not as good as Songs for the Deaf though.
Best value? Mars Volta--$6.99 at Coconuts. And, TO ME, it's the best album of the year [thus far].

I get my hip-hop fix on the radio and through downloading but I'm having trouble listening to the rock stations lately, not hearing anything appealing...thus my attachment to DCFC and my kingdom melodies cd.
I recently went to Princeton Record Exchange(if you have a saturday afternoon free, check it out but leave yourself plenty of time). I re-bought some cds of tapes I had BACK in the day:
