okay, i have come to the conclusion that band names lately have gotten way out of hand.
how hard is it to come upwith a cool name to call your band?!? it doesn't even have to be cool, just not completely stupid.
here are some bands with some really stupid names:
snow patrol
fall out boy
panic at the disco(a particularly stupid band name)
straylight run (could you be any gayer???)
the hush sound (apparently you can)
death cab for cutie (what does that even mean??)
Guster (i don't know what that means...but it sound disgusting)
...and the list goes on.
also, apparently having a stupid band name and writing really crappy songs go hand in hand, because just about all of the "artists" i listed above, REALLY SUCK!!!
maybe these groups would be easier to listen to if they at least had good band names, but no. there is absolutely nothing good to say about some of these groups other than that they may eventually kill themselves because they are emo losers.

I want my nickel back every time I hear them. They are the most generic band I have ever heard in my life, although for some reason I enjoy them in bowling alleys?? Panic at the disco is a pretty big rip off of fall out boy. But why the hate with death cab?? Ben Gibbard is a very talented musician. Death cab for cutie was taken off of a cartoon in the 60's.

Names. Hmmm. White Zombie was a cool name. i like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Eagles of Death Metal, Lupe Fiasco, Dillinger Escape Plan, Mr. Bungle, Deftones. All good names.
All's I know is, I really love Snow Patrol, so I feel compelled to defend them.

I like the name Blood Brothers, I like Fatboy Slim, I like Aphex Twin, I love the name Queens of the Stone Age. Here's something: I don't know if I'd like the names less if I didn't like the music. This is a tough thing to break down. You're probably a lot more likely to hate a bands name if you hate the music. S'gotta be true.

i also like the name A Perfect Circle.. because everytime we hear it said at wedding ceremonies my assistant and I look at each other excitedly haha

i like early punk band names for some reason.
bands like:
the dead kenedy's
social distortion
bad religion
minor threat
the clash
all of these names in my oppinion are cool mainly cause they are original/meaningful/creative. i think that is what makes a good band name.
another cool band name is "the killers"
what about TSOL? DRI? Exploited?

insomnia had me up one night and i saw these guys on some local show sam ash makes that's basically "underground" acts playing live in a studio.
haha that musta been awesome.i think im gonna go see them soon when they come around.
Sounds like all those mentioned bands in the song should write a song making fun of Gym Class Hero's lack of songmanship.

guster is a great band. theyre coming to my college next month too.
the hush sound is really good. i saw them opening for jack's mannequin, they are good on cd but incredible live. the drummer made a slow song sound insane with his energetic performance.
straylight run is great too. what can i say? i love piano-pop-punk.

i think you are too deaf to hear how dumb their music is.
i've tried listening to most of these groups, and they all sound so typical. i cannot stand most piano pop rock. when i listen to it i ussually cannot wait for the songs to end unless it's tom waits (which isn't really or rock) or if it's phiona appel (she's the best). i also can't stand punk music where the writer tries to make the lyrics really deep, but only succeeds at making them confusing and stupid.
fallout boy and deah cab sound EXACTLY the same...there is NO difference in the two bands. i think fall out boy just dresses up as younger lamer versions of themselves and create death cab. either that or death cab is just that suckfull; cause the only thing lamer than fall out boy, is trying to be like fall out boy.
Now see if you had these kind of cojones in real life you wouldn't have a problem telling a worldly girl to leave you alone

guster is so chill and mellow and fun to just hang out and enjoy. i dont think they do anything to merit the hatred of anyone. i would definately go see them at my college but its on a tuesday night.
