malibu #15.3.1.1 malibuOG 2001

hahahaha. i just can't stand the arrogance and how stupid it is to flaunt your kissing and lovin skills like that.

sugabluejennnie sugabluejennnieOG 2002

well she asked what ya think of it?

jp #14 jpOG 2003

also, kenny g's forever in love is great. no words, but the words are implied :)

T
#14.1 toxicgirlOG 2003

At our congregation gatherings Kenny G is always the music we eat too. After the prayer, everyone gets in line and like clockwork Kenny G is slapped in the cd player. I guess he is good for digestion. But I will never be able to dance to Kenny G. I am conditioned to eat sloppy joe to Kenny G.

J
#14.1.1 jollycandymanOG 2001 funny

haha, i wasn't pasying attention to who was writing this, but then when I saw Sloppy Joe was being eaten, I knew it was someone else from PA.

T
#14.1.1.1 toxicgirlOG 2003

Pennsylvania state food: Sloppy Joe--woo yeah

J
jollycandymanOG 2001

oh yeah, and BBQ and baked Ziti and devilled or pickeled eggs. All stapels of Pennsylvania Congragation get togethers

T
toxicgirlOG 2003

YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!-all the NJ ppl who came to my graduation party this august thought the pickled eggs were alien nuclear waste. Thank goodness someone else knows what they are.

J
jollycandymanOG 2001

know what they are? I love em. You didn't do Cotton Eye Joe at your party did you? Thats a real PA favorite

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

I love that song with a passion.

J
jollycandymanOG 2001

I really hope there is alot of sarcasm in that comment, if there isn't Im stumbled

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 jollycandyman

Well then I'm sorry to stumble you but I really do enjoy that song. All that dododododododo and turning around. It's fun.

malibu malibuOG 2001 thatdarngirl

hahahah. you were so cute and funny while trying to learn it. and we still re-teach it. did they play it at the wedding last nite?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 malibu

Unfortunately no. They did play the cha-cha slide..which I'm becoming quite the expert at! And Sammy requested love shack but the guy didn't even have it.

malibu malibuOG 2001 thatdarngirl

what is wrong with him? he is doing a wedding and he doesn't have love shack????!!>?> what's up with that?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 malibu

I donno! That was like at Ray Lairback's wedding where the guy had like never even heard of it! He was pretty good otherwise and Alyssa was making me do the merengae (which I spelled wrong) with her.

malibu malibuOG 2001 thatdarngirl

hahah i love the mereangue. so much fun. i love to spin. but when john quasano taught me how to do it. it felt weird cuz i'm taller than him and he kept having to spin me so i ducked.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 malibu

I had my shoes on so I was taller then her..and I'm so bad at dancing. She was really good with me though because she's just so good at it that she can even lead well.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 thatdarngirl

everybody clap your hands

jp jpOG 2003

cotton eye joe...as described my someone at my school as "the song that never dies"

starshiptrooper starshiptrooperOG 2003

is pickled eggs anything like deviled eggs?

T
toxicgirlOG 2003

You put eggs in a big jar with a vinegar, onions, red beets and pickling spice mixture (its boiling hot). Let it sit and the eggs soak up the purple color. They really aren't the same as deviled eggs. Must be a PA thing.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

the horror! the HORROR!

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 fivezero

Oh stop, I'll be making pickled beets and eggs for you sweetie-in my apron and heels.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 toxicgirl

i'll order pizza. from uncle vinny. i swear.

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 fivezero

you can't exploit my poor uncle for pizza, that's my job. i have it down to an art form.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 toxicgirl

ok, fine. can i exploit him for calzones then?

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 fivezero

if you want calzone, ask my dad. nobody makes 'em like sal. (uncle vincent uses mediocre cheese).

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 toxicgirl

mmm, well, we'll have to see about that. vinny's got the shop. it's pretty convenient.

malibu malibuOG 2001 toxicgirl

i recently discovered what calzone meant in spanish. it's very funny.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 malibu

share it with us, eh?

malibu malibuOG 2001 fivezero

my sister works in a pizzaria with tons of spanish guys and they asked her how her calzones were doing. when she replied they were good thanks she wondered why they were all laughing and then found out it means underwear

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 malibu

calzoncillos hahaha

J
#6 jollycandymanOG 2001

is the electric slide considered a slowdance song, or just a ghey song?

jp #5 jpOG 2003

ill post the rest of my favorites since nobody else can keep it to one. :)

-lady in red
-with or without you
-lets stay together-al green
-love of my life-santana

T
#5.1 toxicgirlOG 2003

If you really listen close to the lyrics of that U2 song, you will find that it's incredibly frustrating. If my boyfriend said, "Brell, I can't live with or without you." I'd be incredibly confused. Should I be swept off my feet? Another decieving U2 song is "One." Sounds like a love song but is it really? Hmm. I actually watched an interview where the edge (the bassist) was talking about ppl using that at their weddings. He said ppl should read those lyrics, cuz it really isn't the best wedding song.

J
#5.1.1 jollycandymanOG 2001

the edge is the lead guitarist, Adam Clayton is the bassist

T
#5.1.1.1 toxicgirlOG 2003

Oh man, you are so right, I don't know WHAT I was thinking.

J
jollycandymanOG 2001

yeah, what are you retarded?
Im joking, im sorry

T
toxicgirlOG 2003

You should be sorry, someday you might want a fellow PA-ezabeler to have your back and you won't find me anywhere.

J
jollycandymanOG 2001

im sorry =*( That is a tear, if you cant tell. Im retarded

malibu #5.2 malibuOG 2001

hahaha lady in red. i was gonna say this. at the mike and katies wedding the floor was so stinking crowded when this song came on. also a sentimental value for one of the first slow dances.i can't remember the first one but i know this one came after it.

forrestina #5.2.1 forrestinaOG 2002

i was wearing red and no one asked me to dance =(

malibu #5.2.1.1 malibuOG 2001

awwww. you had to be standing by me cuz two guys were like yes! one girl that's not taken and one said it faster than the other. then the other boy had to go searching for someone else to dance with.
i was gonna put his name but i was thinking it would make him embrassed so i edited myself.

omegatweeter #4 omegatweeterOG 2003

Sheryl Crow - "I Shall Believe"
i posted this one in the wedding songs too.

esprit15d #4.1 esprit15dOG 2003

I'm surprised you picked that song. But i like it to - I like imperfect love songs. And its not one of SC's more famous songs.

omegatweeter #4.1.1 omegatweeterOG 2003

how come you're surprised?

esprit15d #4.1.1.1 esprit15dOG 2003

I dunno...its not a really lovey dovey song, and I don't think I've ever heard it anywhere else than out of my CD player. It was just a pleasant surprise to hear someone else talk about it.

skaorsk8 #3 skaorsk8OG 2002

my list is rather short

Chris DeBurgh - Lady in Red (if i hear ONE comment about prostitutes here i will smack whomever says it)
Gwen - Don't Speak (ok it's the best 90's slow dance/"am i punk? i'm not sure" slow dance song)
Put Your Head on My Shoulder - I'm not sure who sings this. I heard Bobby Klemple do it and was suitably impressed. It makes me want to live in the 50's.
Frank Sinatra - I Won't Dance
Norah Jones - Don't Know Why (I can imagine being like 40 and slow dancing to this with my wife under the stars after we've locked the kids inside the Nissan Pathfinder watching "Lion King" on DVD)
Dean Martin - You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You
Bobby Darin - I'm Beginning to See the Light
Bono and that Ridiculously Hot Chick from the Corrs - Where the Stars Go Blue
Frente - Bizarre Love Triange (this is the slow version...this is, without a doubt, my FAVORITE)

The World's GAYEST song

"Last Dance" - this is played at weddings to confuse people. It starts out slow, but then turns fast and horrible. And the only reason it gets played is so people get the hint and go home.

J
#3.1 jollycandymanOG 2001

the girl from the coors is soooooooooo hot, we should devote a thread to her

skaorsk8 #3.1.1 skaorsk8OG 2002

OHHHHHH yes. very true. we should!!

J
#3.1.1.1 jollycandymanOG 2001

I think her name is Andrea Coor, not that I stalk her or anything....well at least not anymore anyway.

forrestina #2 forrestinaOG 2002

I couldn't pick just one...

Umberto Tozzi - Ti Amo
Pretenders - I'll Stand by You (sentimental value-one of my first slow dances)
Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody
Shania Twain and Brian White - From This Moment On
Paul McCartney / Wings - Maybe I'm Amazed
Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes
Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole - Unforgettable

skaorsk8 #2.1 skaorsk8OG 2002

i think maybe i'm amazed is great, but it's a little too rockin for a slow dance song....

jp #2.1.1 jpOG 2003

thats what i was gonna say.

then again, i love slow dancing to "with or without you" by U2, its slower than some other U2 but still rockin...great song there

forrestina #2.1.2 forrestinaOG 2002

well im not conventional

T
#2.2 toxicgirlOG 2003

I always wanted Maybe I'm Amazed to be my wedding song. Ha. No seriously.

esprit15d #1 esprit15dOG 2003

When I saw the topic, immediately in my mind I said "Beautiful Tonight." I was stunned when I saw you already had it too. Anyway, very nice song.

Some others: "Heaven" by Bryan Adams, "At Last" Etta James, and "Can't Help Fallig in Love" - Elvis. There are others.

tinser #1.1 tinserOG 2002

can't help falling in love was my parents wedding song

skaorsk8 #1.1.1 skaorsk8OG 2002

woah your parents got married when that sharon stone movie came out??

tinser #1.1.1.1 tinserOG 2002

no, the song by elvis

forrestina #1.1.2 forrestinaOG 2002

my parents didn't have a wedding song

malibu #1.1.2.1 malibuOG 2001

how could they not have a wedding song?

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

she also didn't wear a white dress. she wore one she made...off white with flowers. no veil, wreath on her head. oh so hippie.

malibu malibuOG 2001

i'm sure it was quite the happy day though.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

it was we have the cutest pics!
