Alright, back in the day(as in like the victorian era), art was basically restricted to the upper class - the "elite", and highly educated..The common folk had no concern w/it....But, one day...Art went from a delicacy only found amongst the high minded, to, a mass-produced money making machine - art was opened to the common folk - and, unfortunatelly, the average person isn't all that deep...THIS is when it began to decay into the mess we have now..it slowly started to get "dumbed down" so that the average person could understand absorb and like it - and then the increasing minmizing of talent put into creating it became a trend..ever notice how loosely & indiscriminately the term "artist" is thrown around
its true. i could splat colors on a white board and call it art. or draw squares and circles. but when you talk about replicating the type of artwork that davinci, greco, michalengalo, velasquez or people like that; lots of people don't paint like that anymore. its more about feeling and impressions (which is completely fine and i enjoy a lot of it) but old paintings were so much more about painting a picture and describing every detail.

music is so much more about feeling. and it was like, "how can i express this love? write a symphony." but now its like, "how can i write a song about love that will make me rich?"
okay i was listening to the radio and ya know simple plan is supposed to be all hardcore punk and stuff, NO!!! they have a chrismas song!!! like a "what do i want for chrismas, i've been trying so hard to be good" kinda song. what punk band does this?

ummm...simple plan never called themselves hardcore..and..nobody else called them that either, lol....THAT would be a missclassification & a 1/2...they do, on the other hand consider themselves to be punk...which they're a lot closer to..just...put the phrase "commercial & easily digested" in front of that

Never hardcore, but their a fun pop band who thinks they're punk...but thats all they are...POP...
