Most Depressing Album

My vote would have to go to The Cure - Distintegration.

Dashboard is good too but the music is more upbeat then The Cure.

modestjesse #6.1.1 modestjesseOG 2004

I do too.

forrestina #6.2 forrestinaOG 2002

the breakup cds lol

modestjesse #6.2.1 modestjesseOG 2004

Yeah, what's up with that, why do we torture ourselves?

forrestina #6.2.1.1 forrestinaOG 2002

it feels good to cry and sing loud?

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

Does it? I don't konw. I can remember nights listening to Distintegration crying. But then there's the angry nights listening to NIN screaming in rage. Ah, those were fun.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

i'd listen to NIN and make faces in the mirror. no, really...

we had a public talk a few weeks ago where they talked about depressing music and such. and the speaker said how his nephew had shot himself and he looked into all the music the boy had. he was like, "if you recognize any of these songs, you should throw yours out." it was like metallica, sevendust, and some other bands. it was weird. specific names from the stage.

Ok I think that is totally TOTALLY ridiculous.

The way a certain song or band affects one person can be totally different from the way it affects someone else. Suicide isn't caused by music, it's caused by depression, lack of attention, drugs/alcohol, who knows... it's a call for help ..

I don't know I just think things like this are ridiculous, and it always happens....

If i ever want to kill myself, i'm gonna fill my room with Celine Dion and Yanni records first. And of course, NSYNC

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

Hey, Yanni is good!

But I feel the same, it's stupid when people blame music for their kids problems.

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

That's kind of messed up. I can't stand how people turn around and blame music for things. Like when Judas Priest was sued cause two kids commited suicide.

Maybe it's wrong to say, but it's not the music that's allowing things to get out of control, it's parents not showing a full interest in what their kids are doing.

perrin perrinOG 2004

The problem with doing that is that's his opinion nowhere has the faithful and discreet slave said that. You have to be careful when you say things like that from the platform.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

A brother in my hall said all the Disney movies are evil and should be throw away. It's out of line, but it makes you think.

perrin perrinOG 2004

Yes it gets you think but you can't be going beyond what the faithful and discreet slave have said on the matter. It's up to our individual consciences. It's a personal decision one way or the other.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

Thats correct. It's alienating.

malibu malibuOG 2001

i know. that's why it was weird to hear this brother name all these songs like, "Master of the Puppets." i mean it was a very personal thing for him and likely makes him very upset but it was difficult to listen to him name all these bands.

Tyra Banks - Modeling ain't easy...

I just get depressed listening to it.

ballyhoo #4 ballyhooOG 2001

Yea. Definitely the Cure. Listen to a fiona apple cd though. That girls got some issues.

modestjesse #4.1 modestjesseOG 2004

Yes she does! She's soo good too. :)

perrin #3 perrinOG 2004

I was talking to someone about this yesterday and we were talking about how the counting crows Album August and everything after can be rather depressing.

socalgal #2 socalgalOG 2003

you can always count on the cure and the smiths for depression! you gotta love it!!!

forrestina #1 forrestinaOG 2002

I dont have a whole sad album but "Everybody Hurts" always makes me cry. "Ain't No Sunshine" is very sad as well. I tend to not listen to sad songs when I'm sad. I always put on either the Beatles or something totally goofy.
