i want to buy a digital camera for my upcoming honeymoon and my old camera is pretty much shot.
My price range is in the $150 - $250 range, and I would like something that is compact, that takes sharp pics, and has a quick shooting speed.
I was looking around on newegg.com and I saw some ok looking ones like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830120148
I also checked out Best Buy and the Canon digital elph sd750 looked cool. But I'd like to get some feedback before I make a decision.
Any ideas?

you know, your marrying the girl of your dreams restores my faith in love developing over time, and not that quick meaningless emotion found so frequently today. I am very happy for you.
(wow, where did that comment come from?)
wow thanks. yeah i still can't believe it either :)
What happens if the girl of your dreams is already married?
break 'em up
Yeah... wish it was that easy...
aren't you married?
HAHAHAHAHA sorry I had to laugh... no, Im not... who spread that rumor?
funny, i thought you were. *shrug*
scandalous...who is it. haha
And, get over Giac...geeze, you missed the boat. You'll find your queen!
Thanks for the confidence Jahanna... "Il Mio Tesoro" haha
yeah, sister crochovera is a hottie of epic proportions
so i ended up ordering the sd1000, i checked out all of your suggestions and there were some slightly better cameras out there, but the dimensions of this one was the kicker for me. it's really small, and still is a good camera. I got a combo deal on newegg where they threw in an 1 gig SD card, travel case, and other stuff. and i also got a high speed 2 gig sd card. I'll let you know how it goes.
take some pics and post 'em!
so i got my canon digital elph sd1000, i love it! very small and compact, big view screen, sharp pictures, very fast speed. Its great!! i got a 1gig card with it for free, but i also ordered a high speed 2 gig card and a better battery, which is nice because now i have an extra memory card and battery. I'll post some pics soon
this is what we have:
I love it because it has the quick shooting speed, and the pictures are really nice and clear. And it's little and compact. It says it's on sale right now too.
dude you didn't like my recommendation last time you asked this? haha.
(someone post my reply b/c i'm too lazy to find it myself)
hmm i forgot that i asked this before
canon rules
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
does it matter?
(Someone had to make a honeymoon comment....)lol
hawaii for 2 weeks!!
kaui or maui? you're seriously going to LOVE it!!!
kaui... we had the option of going to each for a week but we decided to just stay in kaui for 2 weeks and just chill there. can't wait
kauai is DEF a better choice than maui! seriously, you're not going to want to come home. it gives you a little taste of what paradise might be like
i want paradise to look like new york city
haha :)
oooh, i love hawaii. i've never been there, but i heard about it once.
You should go with your brother! He will love the company!!!
that looks pretty slick
GO TO B&H!
I've never had a problem with my Canon. I have the Canon Powershot. I bought in 2003 before leaving for London & since then they've come out with better quality of course, and eventually I'd like to get one with more Megapixels.. but until I can do that.. the Canon Powershot has been great to me & it's 4 years old, so great longevity. Also, has ease of use.
yeah i had the same and loved that camera. cannon's are pretty good. my latest one, i purchased a kodak about a year ago, the sales guy was raving about it and yeah i HAAAATE IT
Looks like a quality camera.
Engadget seems to like it, as well. They've got some links to reviews.
